Yesterday V4L officially released the larger sized Zeus (1300mah). I've had the pleasure of getting to test these out for the past couple of weeks, and now to give the full run down on the in's and outs of the new larger Zeus. Will also include info on the new larger Smileos that go along with them.
1300mah Zeus technical details-
We'll start first with charging times. Keep in mind that the first 3-7 charges will take slightly longer, after the cell has been broken in you'll see a 5% decrease in charge time-
USB port (rated for 500ma)- 178 minutes (just shy of 3 hours), final actual voltage on the battery 4.22v. After 5 charges time was reduced to 163 minutes (about 2.75 hours).
Slim line- 829 minutes (roughly 13.8 hours). After 7 charges- 803 minutes (roughly 13.4 hours). Just like with the 900mah Zeus don't suggest using the slim line.
Next we'll touch on the amp limit. It's 3.6a just like that of the 900mah. Before I do the time by time run downs (running all those tests in full as we speak, the 1.5ohm DC testing is done, will post it tomorrow) will give you a quick over look of what to expect output wise from the Zeus.
Voltage output at full-90% charge-
1.5ohm dual coil carto- 4.45v
2.0ohm dc carto- 4.69v
2.5ohm dc carto- 4.83v
Wow carto at 2.3ohms- 5.03v
Cool cart at 3.3ohms- 5.04v
Smileo at 2.5ohms- 5.04v
Voltage output at about 50% charge-
1.5ohm dual coil carto- 4.41v
2.0ohm dc carto- 4.63v
2.5ohm dc carto- 4.77v
Wow carto at 2.3ohms- 5.01v
Cool cart at 3.3ohms- 5.03v
Smileo at 2.5ohms- 5.03v
Voltage output at end of charge-
1.5ohm dual coil carto- 3.31v
2.0ohm dc carto- 3.33v
2.5ohm dc carto- 3.32v
Wow carto at 2.3ohms- 3.27v
Cool cart at 3.3ohms- 3.25v
Smileo at 2.5ohms- 3.25v
In other words they experience the same voltage holding and dramatic drop at the end as their 900mah brethren, which is a great thing.
Won't go too much into use time yet, for those who have used the 900mah Zeus expect around a 30% gain in use time in comparison.
As for the large smileos. Know on the site they are listed as 6ml, but the actual amount of juice they can hold is 5.25-5.75ml's (prototypes were 5.28ml's on avg). Of the two samples I have one holds 5.27ml's, the other 5.44ml's.
The soft tip is thicker on them in comparison to the small smileos, which makes it harder to chew through. After a few weeks of use the one I'm using only has a few nicks in it, but nothing nearly as bad as the smaller smileos cap would have by now.
Airflow is again perfect on whatever battery V4L sells you use it on, ranging from the classic Vapor King to the Zeus. Does look out of place on the smaller stick batts, but doesn't look bad on the egos, DAV's, or the 900mah Zeus. How it will look to you is a matter of personal preference.
Am working on the long term testing to give an idea of longevity. Only one I've completed thus far is with Wowboy VG. After 24ml's of wowboy vg the carto was clogged. Used the usual cleaning method with it and so far it's performing like new. Currently testing Smilin premium on a fresh one.
Only real con for some will be the size. Those who found the tip of the regular smileo too big will not be happy of the slightly larger size of these.
That's all for now, will be posting up the first test results tomorrow.
