Insane when I first started vaping I was much like you in that I was expecting the taste to be the same or very close to what I smoked. After 3 months vaping I can tell you that plantluvr is right. My tastes have changed. My sense of smell has come back and now everything tastes differently. Many flavors that I didn't like before I now enjoy. I really don't think you will find anything that tastes exactly like your old analogs but shortly you will not want that taste anyway. I can't stand a drag off my old brand now. On another note, I now can smell when my dog needs a bath, my hacking cough in the morning is gone and my house, car and clothes no longer smell like smoke. I also feel more energetic. Anyway I'm not trying to convince you just asking that you give it some time and keep trying different flavors. Hopefully you will find your sweet spot.

All I can tall you is that I and a whole bunch of other folks here love V4l flavors, but if you go to the main ECF forum there is a 'flavor review' section that might help you get what you are looking for. I really hope you find your 'it' flavor but don't be surprised if after vaping for awhile, you will really start to enjoy nice flavors instead of just tobacco. Never thought I would love vaping butterscotch after smoking for 40 years but I sure do!

Most tobacco flavors I've tried (V4L and elsewhere) have tasted more like an unlit cig to me, but I've gotten used to it. I actually prefer the menthol flavors now, even though I never was a menthol smoker. They seem to satisfy any need for something that reminds me of a cigarette taste.

My advice (for what it's worth) is to try something completely different than the tobacco flavors and see how that flies with you. Or try the Kant from V4L.

I don't think there are very many of us that didn't start out wanting to vape tobacco flavors, but there are many of us who don't use them at all or very rarely now.
My premise was that I wanted to mimic smoking as much as possible and that went for taste especially.

What I found out is that there are no flavors that taste or vape exactly like tobacco.

I will tell you though, that of all the tobacco flavors I've tried, and I've tried tons from lots of different vendors and the V4L Kant is the closest thing to smoking a real cigarette that I've had. I think it is the closest thing to a copy of the tobacco cigs I've found yet.

Oh, and for reference, I smoked Marlboro Reds for 38 years 2 packs a day.

Tried the Ry4? It is kinda like a tobacco, but not really. But enough that it taste like tobacco to me. But now that i found English Toffee, and Caramel Mocha Frappuchino, I don't really want that tobacco flavor at all.

I see our tastes are identical. And I like RY4, too. That Frappuccino hasn't left my paws since I received it. :)

Is it just me or does the cowboy, parliament, 555, camel flavors all kinda taste like graham crackers or coffee? aren't cowboys supposed to taste like marlboro, camel like camel etc? is this just vapor4life liquids or is this the v4l e cig? or just e cigs in general?

im with you.
ive tried cowboy, virginia, and hilton.
they all taste like .... absolutely ...-like.

i would love a real cig like flavor to have for people around me to try..
but im tired of buying packs just to be let down

well then they should make a rat poison flavor or a tar flavor lol... I'm already adjusting i hate cigs already.

thanks

FWIW, Hilton did the trick for me while I was de-tobacco-ing. Now I can't stand tobacco flavors... well, except Cuban Cigar, but I think I'd probably still set one of those on fire (analog only)

Like a couple people have said, it's going to be very difficult to replicate an actual cigarette flavor without the actual burning of tobacco (and the thousands of chemical additives in analogs). It's the same principle as chocolate, without using something derived from cacao. It's not an issue exclusive to V4L, it's just the nature of e-liquid. Multiply that by the number of variances in desire that each person has, and well...you get the idea.

What I've found to satisfy the "feel" of smoking an analog is stuff like the Caramel Mocha Frappucino 24mg. It gives the 'full mouth hit' that I crave in the mornings. I think it's a combination of the 24mg nic strength (some even go up to 36mg) but also the coffee base that seems to replicate the mouth- and throat-feel of smoking.

Does it taste like the Marlboro's I smoked exclusively for 15 years? No, thank God. :w00t: Heh, even after 3 short weeks of vaping, walking by or standing in the smoking area at work sometimes makes me wince. But CMF acts as the placebo for the experience I got from lighting up an analog.

The point is, it might take some experimenting with various flavors, nic strengths, and vendors to find what satisfies your smoking demon. I feel confident in the hardware I have now (from V4L), so the search continues for me in finding my 5 go-to flavors. I have no less than 40 bottles of liquid (some VG and some PG) from 5 vendors and another 2 orders coming in this week. I dont want to make it sound like vaping is this huge daunting task, the experimenting is even a little fun. But I'm committed to not going back to analogs, so I'll do some leg-work and spend some $$ up front, to ensure I find exactly what it's gonna take to keep my commitment.

So apart from CMF, you might want to try another of the coffee-based flavors. The Butterscotch cartos might also work, I'm looking forward to those myself. And of course there is VG liquid, which will come closer to the fullness of real smoke, but will be a little lighter on the throat.

Good luck finding your favorites, and Happy Vaping...
