Another story here...
Cannot make my wife stop the analogs - she was excited in the beginning, used it for some time but always together with the analogs. Always after a few days went back completely to them and dropped the PV. I got a M401 and she liked it a lot and said with this I can do it, got one set for her - same thing - a few days later only analogs...
Tried all kind of methods - no way to convince her to move 100% to vaping...
so now I am continuing my journey and hoping at one point she will join too, trying not to push too much.
The problem is that the cost here is not a concern at all - a pack of MB is like $1.8 so cannot use that motivation, any others simply don't stick.
Anyone has a working advice I can use, will appreciate it. ;)
Don't try and convince her. She will see the benfits from you NOT smoking, or she won't.
She's an adult too - and its her choice, same as it is yours. nagging her even a bit (ok..persuading lol), will achieve only one thing: her continuing to smoke.

Good luck on YOUR journey though sounds like you're enjoying it :)

I rarely miss smoking, the only time I do is when the atty's keep flooding that ish is annoying but usually happens because im doing other things , while vaping.

I was just thinking when I smoked and its real windy , cherry blows off , your sitting there smoking inside your shirt or something , tucking the cig inside your hand to keep it right.

The e cig is pretty sweet in any weather so far , in a hurricane you might could still vape. In a blizzard it's possible you would be freezing your __ off , but could still vape.

No broke cigs , or lighting the .... end while drunk. Yeah atty, and bat failure is not to bad when I think back to those times of analog fail. The craving of not having an e cig is not as major as when I smoked and ran out of smokes too. I am glad there is an alternative.

I should start a poll, but what is the very WORST thing about smoking?

I have to say it is dropping your cigarette in your car while driving.
Man, that is some bad news right there.

Dropping it in your lap, very bad.
Dropping it down the side between your seat is even worse.
And having it blow intot the backseat is another real pleasure as well.

Been there, done all of those!

I enjoy being able to vape when it is windy, taking a drag walking without having to block the wind in order to light up. I go outside to vape sometimes with my friends that are smokers, as I do enjoy the social experience, even though I can vape inside.

It is nice to be able to drop an e-cig while driving and not have to panic.

Strangers ask if the e-cig is helping me quit smoking. I have tell them I already quit smoking a long time ago, and have no intention of quitting anything at the moment.

I have many friends who smoke analogs. They all know that I use an ecig and I have let my smoker friends try my ecig out. One of my friends has switched over to vaping and got his own kit, but my other friends still continue to smoke cigarettes after they have used/tried mine.

A couple months ago I finally got a mod. My sister-in-law who smokes saw how much vapor I was spewing out with my mod and she said 'Wow, my ecig never put out that much vapor.' She was smoking an analog at the time and I didn't even know that she had an ecig until she said that. She went outside just now to smoke and I'm in the house on the computer vaping away. And I can hear her coughing.

A couple of guys at my work who smoke were curious about ecigs so I let them try it. I even let them try my mod so they could get the best ecig experience. One guy liked it a lot and said he would get his own, and I gave him some websites to check out. A couple weeks later I asked him about it and he said he was going to stick to analogs.

Some smokers have told me that they don't like the taste of ecigs and I try to tell them there are lots of flavors but they say they would still rather smoke analogs. I just don't get it.

Do you have friends like this?

Many people are afraid of change. That might be why.

It doesn't help either that there isn't an FDA ruling. My boss' eyes lit up like a pinball machine when he saw my e-cig, but the first questions out of his mouth were, "Hey, aren't these things in the works to be banned? Did the FDA approve them yet?" Many smokers are still scared even though tobacco smoking is absolutely horrible. Still, it's been around waaaay longer than e-cigs and is familiar. So in all honesty, I can't blame any smoker for not wanting to switch over. The unknown is scary, especially when there isn't a "ruling" to give folks warm fuzzies.

Even after I give up my 4-6 cigarettes (I refuse to call them "analogs") a day, I will still be a smoker in the same way that recovering alcoholics are still alcoholics. I still like the smell of cigarette smoke, still prefer the company of smokers to non-smokers, as has been the case in the last couple decades or so, as so many of the "nons" have turned increasingly into insufferable "antis." That said, I do hope eventually to influence some who smoke to try e-cigarettes. But being a 100% e-cigarette user doesn't require anyone to turn into a self-righteous ex-smoker.

I'm pretty new to this, but my impression, so far, is that there's a certain itch that e-cigs don't scratch. Can't quite define it. As a way of thinking about just the taste aspect, in the world of cooking, particularly in crafting new recipes, there is the concept of "mouthfeel". Vapor is not the same as smoke. Flavor is only one aspect of the smoking experience. Really, that "itch" isn't just about mouthfeel, or throathit, or taste. Today was my first day of vaping while at work. My "smoke break" didn't feel the same. Now maybe that's because I have a long-standing psychological association of smoking with getting a bit of relief from the job stresses. Or not -- I don't really know. As far as taste goes, I've been reading here a lot about people's efforts to get to a good tobacco flavor, and it seems a bit elusive.

But irrespective of the why and how, vaping doesn't directly equate with smoking, even after you discount ashtray odor and other residual negatives. I mean the experience itself. Not to say that it isn't a good substitute. Obviously many people even prefer it. But it is different. So not everyone will find the difference to be an improvement. Horses for courses, and all that.

But I wonder to what extent the objection to taste isn't a proxy for some other, perhaps subtle aspects of smoking, and people just fall back on that for lack of a better way to describe how vaping isn't the same.
