I talked to one bloke about it and a few people in B&M but welll. Things like this kind of bug me, my friend drove a beetle and all other beetle drivers would flash their lights at him like ooh snap we are in the same club. Same with a friend who drove a mini. Really annoys me for some reason. So no i don't want to give anyone a nod :) Do smokers flick ash on each other with a sly wink? Do bald men do a blue footed boobie mating dance when they see another? No and no.
I like seeing motorcyclists wave to each other on the road, like when it's an old, bearded grandpa on a Harley and a young stud on a Ducati.

I have stopped asking people about their vaping unless they seem like the chatty type. I have to make do with chatting with my computer friends. ;) I can just imagine someone asking my husband what he's vaping, "uh, no idea, whatever my wife handed me." 10 months and he's never so much as filled a tank.

I don't ask normally what anyone else has but somehow I'm always asked. As soon as I walk in my shop at least 2 people want to vape my gear because of the flavor and build. It's all cool because I usually barter with them since they like my Liquid. I have them buy me something in the shop in trade for 30-60mls of what I have. It's a win-win for everyone especially the shop owner.

Hands up, i miss the old days when people would ask me about my set-up. At the time i considered it a pain but looking back it did start a few conversations.
Nowadays in my neck of the woods it's more common to see a vaper than a smoker.
5 years ago seeing another vaper generally meant that that person had a level of interest and intelligence that would make a conversation relatively easy. Not so anymore.

At least no one asks me for a light anymore.

I still have people ask me for a cigarette 3 years since my last one. I do not understand why when I do not even have a Stealth MOD in my hand and the look I get when I say I don't smoke is priceless.

I still have a couple of lighters around that, I guess, are over six years old now.

I wonder if they still work (and yes, of COURSE I'm about to test that...).

I run into vapers all the time and the usual thing I do is a toast with my MOD if I haven't already gotten toasted by them and many times a conversation is struck up because of the MOD I am carrying. In traffic at a light I have had some people blow a serious cloud out the window towards my direction or they fogged out the inside of their car and people are blowing the horn behind them because they can't see the green light.
I'll toast them as well, if they're interested in chatting they'll approach, doesn't happen often around here though as there isn't much of an enthusiast crowd and mostly people 50+ old and ask how long I've been smoke free.

I still have about half a case of lighters around but even all this time later I still reach in my pocket for a light for the Charcoals.

I gave mine away, a month or so before I quit /started vaping a shop had cases of 30 i think it was lighters on sale for 5$ a case, I bought 4 cases thinking I'd smoke forever... I left about 15 at my camp for fires etc..

I used to get a free lighter with every two pack purchase at a Red Barn drive thru. Sometimes he gave me a free one with one pack. Got to a point I had him save me the plastic racks they came in and I had 3 stacked up and used to give them away all the time.

Driving across town Monday for my MIL's birthday, we realized we didn't have a way to light the candles. Six years of vaping and we still think like smokers, as if a lighter is always within reach! We stopped and bought a box of wooden matches lol.

Smokers that need to bum a light just need to get a bit more savvy with the ecig crowd.

They must keep on the lookout for drippers, then approach with "Hey buddy, hows about a dry burn?"

Lighter problem solved - some of those coils could light a fat stogie!
