I have been asked for a light, I hand over my mod and they're like, what?
& adding to @440BB 's mention,
I almost yanked a wick in one of my drippers for a buddy that was "dying" for a cig. I have back ups for my back up so no problem to me. When I removed the top cap, he gave me this look like I was crazy. No difference than lighting it off a stove top...

With some on the burns I have seen from coils and a red hot coils will definitely ignite something.

Speaking of lighters. Hubby is seriously trying this time to make the switch. He has been smoke free for almost 2 weeks so far. YAY!!!!!!!!! We took the boat out last weekend. Went to light the grill to cook up some hot dogs and realized we didn't have a lighter  Fortunately we found some matches in a dry box  We added a lighter to the dry box when we got home. I have my fingers crossed that he will never need a cigarette lighter again for what they were intended for. :nun:

I Mostly talk vaping with my coworkers. In fact, one of the oldest guys working there the longest was the person who introduced me to vaping in the first place, during a conference we both attended. He was the greatest, old Vietnam Vet with COPD who discovered this "awesome" device, and was showing all us smokers.... I bought my first set up (this was like 8 yrs ago) 2 days later. I ended up transferring into his department and more than half the workers were vapers, (his dept was also the one making the most money for the health dep't) so it was pretty much a vape-go zone in there.... We had clients AND workers vaping in the offices, and a great secretary who'd let us know if someone "official" was arriving, but it was a great work environment... for vaping, LOL. My vet pal stuck with vaping and only laments he didn't have the opportunity sooner before he got COPD and an oxygen tank.

My current team however.... They're just glad I'm not smoking, and politely ignore my vape rig that's usually standing on my desk... I don't vape inside however, it's a different kind of environment :)

I don't usually approach random vapers on the street and less homeless people ask me for a cigarette, though I'll talk equipment with pals I know who are starting vaping/quitting smoking in AA, but we'll.... talk about anything, heh.

Since my kid quit smoking he stopped stealing my lighters, but I still have a couple, which I mostly hand over to my husband, LOL.

Just got back from lunch (at cookout!) and when I was leaving the drive through, a car pulled up beside me right after I let out a decent cloud. The driver said yo and handchecked me with his setup. I handchecked him back with a smile. Then his passenger popped his setup into view and smiled. This was in line to exit the parking lot. They quietly reversed and got into the queue of cars.

Well from now on when I see a fellow vapor I will give them the "Mod nod" and keep walking/driving.

Think I'll go stand in front of a mirror for a while and practice it. Gotta look good ya' know.

Seems like for a few years there it was to lower your head, and tuck your hand & mod into your arm pit.

Yeah sure is different lately although I have still run into a person vaping who thinks it as bad as smoking. Class is is session..............

I don't do anything unless someone approaches me and asks about my mod or vaping.

I would never have walked up to a smoker and ask what brand they are smoking or if I could see their lighter.

I am a very social person but don't feel like waving my mod at other vapers at 48 years old. Same when I drive my wife's Mini Cooper... I got tired of waving at EVERY other Mini driver real fast. :p

Mini Cooper drivers yeah. They are a breed of their own. I always thought it was kind of cute until I was buying a new car and got in one to drive it. It was so incredibly uncomfortable and well, British, that I sort of played with the shiftstick, attempted to adjust my .... in the seat and was like, "Um... never mind..." I don't tell that story to MC drivers as they look deeply offended and say, "I find it perfectly comfortable...." :)

Now an Austin Healey on the other hand... I'd put up with some discomfort if I could get one of the older models of that, LOL.... Dream ride.

Yes, I think most vapers (at least around here) aren't going to wander up and talk to each other just about vaping and whatnot, it's pretty normalized.

I didn't ask smokers what they were smoking, but I *DID* judge character sometimes, based on what they smoked. (Marlboro lites, person cannot be trusted, Lucky Strikes, suicidal smoker approaches, etc., heh). I did occasionally get asked what I smoked since I used an electronic injector machine and those cheap plastic cigarette "pack" holders that I would refill... People would get this confused look when asking me for a cigarette, (though I noticed they never refused it, either).

Three years vaping and I've yet to see another vaper in my small town.
I saw my first one about a week ago. He was walking into Wal-Mart as we were driving out of the parking lot. He didn't see me so didn't get or give a vapers nod :D
