Had mine a few weeks now and no scratches on the screen yet, the screen is sort of recessed by a small frame

This. The display is lipped so sitting it on a flat surface is not an issue. But who wouldn't? ;)

The design kind of reminds me of my pager back then lol! Yea im that young

Its a default, not to worry, your battery is fine.

DNA Help Guide

Thanks, that puts me at ease a little bit. I knew that was a function of the DNA 20s for sure, but I thought they had changed that for the 30s. Just wanted to ask and see if everyone else gets that message before I had to hassle with sending it back.

I just ordered one today in gun metal.. I can't wait until it comes in! Now I just have to find a suitable topper for her... And seeing those pics of the cyclone sitting on top of the VS, it looks very appealing to me...

I was looking for a cyclone w/afc to sit atop my VS when it gets here also. I could not find one. It looks like all the real cyclones are sold out and the clones do not have the AFC. If you find otherwise please let me know. I have a scar I bought last year that will have to do for now. Its smoketechs cyclone clone. I hated it at first but after some modifications it works fairly well now.

Yeah I haven't been able to find any with afc either... Which would be a really nice option to have. I might just end up getting a clone honestly, at least until I can find one with afc... Either that or a Taifun gs, something small that'll fit on there real nice.

Is this thing really superior to an MVP and worth $170.00 bucks , I don't know but it will be interesting to see how it fares.

I would say it is far superior. Just looking at the numbers it is capable of putting out nearly 3x the wattage of the MVP (30watts vs 11watts). However that might not be a big deal if you are only using Protanks or something of the sort. It is quite a bit smaller, but with a smaller battery. Don't let that dissuade you though, I have no problem making it through a day without having to charge.

The build quality is nice, as well as the sprung 510 connection. Definitely the best bang for your buck as far as a DNA 30 device in my opinion. I haven't regretted buying mine yet, and haven't touched my Provari since I received it.

It really depends on you, but just comparing specs, build quality, and overall capability the VaporShark is so far ahead of the MVP, they really shouldn't even be compared.

Spec-wise, yes. The DNA30 chip is already proven itself to be a very high quality chip.

Price-wise, against most other DNA30's, yes. Compared to what's coming out of China by way of the SX350 series chips, jury is still out on that, but the SX200 and SX220 chip is already proving itself to be a better value than the DNA20 chipset.

To each individual vaper, yes and no. If you vape only off-the-shelf cartos and clearos, you'll get better usage and value with a MVP/Provari/Vamo etc...

If you use rebuildables, you'll need to weigh the advantages/disadvantages of different devices depending upon what resistance you like to vape at. For example, if 1-1.2ohms is your sweet spot, you have lots of choices to pick from. But as you go lower in preferred resistance, your available options will start to narrow.

I own both, but my MVP serves its only purpose now as just a travel vape, other than that, because of the builds I like to vape at home, my MVP hardly gets any use anymore.

In any event, if price is a factor, and you can do without a 30W device for awhile longer, there will be a variety of options that should hit the market sooner than later.

Kinda curious what everyone has been running on their DNAs. What type coils have you found to be performing best?

So far I have tried:

Single 0.6 x 0.1 flat ribbon Hurricane coil ~12 wraps around a paper clip.
Came out to about 1.3 ohms if I remember correctly.
Had great vapor production and good flavor, but seemed to dry out way too quick.
This was in my Trident v2

Dual 28 gauge micro coils ~10 wraps around 1/16"
Came out to 0.9
Best balance of flavor and vapor, without drying out like the hurricane.
This was in my Atomic.

Single 28 gauge parallel coil 10 wraps around 1/16"
Came out to about ~0.9
This coil just wasn't doing it for me. I don't know if I would have better luck wrapping around something larger than 1/16", maybe someone has had better luck with parallels and can chime in.
This was in my Trident v2.

Was just looking for some input from others to try to find the best set ups, since most coil searches lead to threads or info regarding to mechs and sub-ohming. Since that isn't necessary on regulated devices I am curious to see what has worked best for others.

I'm not going to go into crazy detail, but I have been mostly using RDAs on my two VS DNA30s. I'm building the same coils that I was building for my mech mods, but I'm able to add more wraps, increasing surface area.

This has allowed for more flavor to come through and gives me more room to tune each build to each juice.

My coil(s) that I use is largely dependent on the juice going in. Fruity flavors get ribbon or twisted wire, while stronger deeper flavors get 22 or 24g wire. The stove top coil that Rip just posted about is pretty sweet.

So far, I've liked a 1Ω dual coil kraken clone wicked with SS mesh the best.

For drippers, the hurricane coil is nice, but as you said, it drys out wicked quick. I don't think there is an actual way to get it to wick right. I've found if I point the coil and wick down when I rip it it's better, but not great.

I'm going to try a dual coil 32ga setup on my helios around 1.8Ω. I'm finding the battery life is much better when you run up near 2Ω and the vapor doesn't suffer as bad as you'd think.

I should have also noted that for the hurricane, I even had the coil turned upwards so I could get it across a horizontal bed of cotton instead of one behind it. I was hoping this would keep it from drying out as fast, but that sucker just burned off juice too quick. Maybe I would have better luck with 0.8 flat ribbon.
