Im a little more inclined towards woofer's side in the sense that most of the time the builds are off from what steam engine says by 0.01 or 0.02 ohms. But regardless, as long as I make sure all connections are snug, I get a long lived and good vape.

What atty are you using?

The one I'm referring to is a Marquis clone. Maybe the materials used in it are part of the issue. I have both an authentic Origen v3 rda and Hellfire Raptor coming in the mail. If those don't work right I have no idea what's wrong. What atty(s) have you had success with? What temp do you usually set at on RDAs?

I did try cleaning both the VS 510 and the post of the Marquis. I did notice the post on the Marquis was a little scratchy I guess you'd put it. Like it just wasn't machined well (not surprised being a clone). Could also be part of the issue.

The thing that boggles me though is I just put it on and have been running my orchid for 2 days with kanthal and I was not asked if it was a new coil. Despite my orchid being .55 ohms and the Marquis being .11

So far the ones that I've had success with are:
- lemo drop and full size (approx 12 of them. Personally own 2, but I bought the rest for friends)
- 2x kf4 clones
- Aqua v2
- fogger v4 and v5
- kfl+
- r91
- veritas clone and authentic
- rogue clone
- vertex v2

All running at 430F, and between 22 to 35 watts.

If anything, I've found that for ANY atties with adjustable 510, that's not the best news. I always make sure I crank those tight instead of adjusting them outwards.

The Marquis doesn't have an adjustable 510. And speaking up that I still have yet to get my Russian 91% to work

Hmm. Im stumped then. Im assuming you don't fire your builds on some other mods prior to setting it on your rDNA?

Have you tried building on atties that don't use post holes? (Like most drippers)

Marquis doesn't use post holes. It's similar to the veritas. Like I said, connection is solid. Just doesn't seem accurate. Doesn't even begin to char until set to like 480 or so. I did have decent success with my Lemo though. And I'm still really wishing I could get the Russian working

Do you have a preference between the two? I have someone offering to trade me his Hana DNA 40 V3 for my rDNA 40. Worth noting - I do have the newer rDNA with the big screen.

Trade for a Vaporflask if you can lol I sent my shark off for the 3rd time and when it comes back it is going up for sale.

Clones, as a whole, have given me some trouble with temp mode. They are fine with normal kanthal.

I'm not sure if it's the materials used, or the tightness of the parts fitting / screwing together.

My R91%, KFL+, Lemo Drop, and Erlkönigin have been fine, all authentic.

I do find I get some condensation on the 510 of the Erlk, (bottom airflow) and if I don't take it off and wipe it off, it will begin to mess with the reading.

How did you fix the adjustable pin on your r91? I have an authentic and it's fine with kanthal and jumps all over with nickel

I took everything apart, cleaned it really well, let it dry and then put it back together really tight. It worked well after that.

Also remember that you cannot put an atty in when its at all warm and expect an accurate base resistance. Also, I've found that I usually get about a tank out of any atomizer before the nickel has worked Itself slightly loose and I need to tighten the legs of the coil. After that, it's good.

Oh I know it has to be cool. I have been super careful with that. I can't tighten the post down all the way or it won't even touch the adjustable 510. It becomes too recessed. And it screws in so far that it actually raises slightly above the deck by about 2 threads. I'm guessing that isn't the norm. Don't know how to fix though.

I would add to The Kiwi's list the Tugboat v1, Stillare, TOBH v1, Magma, and, Origen v2.

I have/had a Marquis clone that broke (positive pin top screw) that worked well for a while. The materials appear to be substandard, 316? SS. :) Have asked for a replacement but likely will soon order the authentic.

Can't wait to try with the authentic Origen v3 and hellfire raptor I'm waiting on. I'm starting to think materials make a big difference. I should try my tugboat v2 again.

The Origen v2 you're talking about - is that the rda or genny? And the tugboat - did you run single or dual?

The Origen v2 is the RDA. The genesis would be overkill and too much a bother [for me]. I am considering the bottom feeder for the RDA the moment I acquire a bottom feeder. Vapinart has it now.

I ran the Tugboat both ways, at the moment it has...sorry...a dual 0.5 Kanthal, but I have run both single and dual Ni 200 with success.

Odd ... when I hold down the power at higher wattages, it never displays that "boost power", rather seems to push LOWER wattages at first and goes even lower as I hold the power button.

With my current build it seems I can only fire at 5 watts in order to maintain 420 degrees. Anything higher and it quickly throttles down to 5 watts. Maybe the Atomic doesn't play nice with TC? My coil and wick seem pretty decent honestly ...
