well.. I cant speak to the differences between the VS rDNA and any other dna 30 box.. this is my first one. But the Size is perfect for me.. small! The rDNA is a lil bigger than the original VS DNA, and yet.. small. I like that. and of course the "r" factor.. the ability to not only charge the device, but carry extra charged batteries, if out and about and un able to chagre the internal. so thats the bonus with this vs the original VS.

the differences between this and the Atmos Rx Power-vape 18650 vv mod I originally had are big. I believe the power-vape must use PWM, where the VS is steady power. meaning it heats faster and maintains better heat I guess.. the power-vape could be dialed to a certain watt, but i don't trust it actually did it..because there wasn't much difference. with the VS, I can taste the actual difference as I try various volts, etc. its suggested 8 watts is ideal by charts etc.. but with the VS, I can try 9 watts ( 4.2 v / 2.0 ohm coil ) and the flavors are better, the vape is better, etc.

I was frustrated with the nautilus after a few days, taste wasn't great, limited amount of vapor, etc couldnt chain vape it... with the VS, I can chain it ( until it eventually gets the tank warm.. then I chill a bit ), the taste is better, and I get a lot more vapor.

Thx for the discussion.....The ability to replace the battery easily on the fly was the main reason I've been considering it. All of my dna's are built in batteries and usually last 8 to 10 hours but I take an extra mod with me in case I need it. Just taking an extra battery serves the same purpose. The built in LED in the switch and the way it functions is also a neat and functional feature.

can sone please do a test for me? if you have a RDA and max out the dna ( 29 or 30 watts ) how long until you get the dreaded dna reset?

with a new and fresh charged vtc5 my dna resets after about 10 pulls??? then i have to lower the watts some and it will work again for about 5 to 10 pulls??? I feel like i am using a meck mod?? but with me having to drop the wattage rather then the battery slowly dropping?

Curious if the Rdna does this also???

I'll try it when I'm home but can you explain what happens by the board resetting? Does it stop vaping? Do I have to take out the battery? Does the screen just shut down?

and ya, saw the sharkskins, def want one! but NOT teal or red =/ i want black! I sent them a question about the batteries I asked in this thread, left the oem one it today, lasted all day, just the same, moving form a vtc 4 to a vtc5 would be better.. or using the efest Purple 2500mAh 35 A, even better. Ill post back and let ya know tomorrow when they respond.

built the Russian tonight. ended up with 1.6 ogm, too many wraps, Ill probably re do tomorrow, 6 wraps, instead of the 9 I made tonight. Taste is fricking amazing, but the wicking seems to be the challenge with the kf /r91. had to re do it once already, went dry fast. seems better now. man with the 5 Pawns Queenside.. delicious though with the R91. I remain concerned about wicking, and maybe needing to dry pull it often to prevent dry hits? Ill take it to work tomorrow and report back with more experience.

Why not leave the build in and explore 1.6 on VW device? I.5-1.8 is right where I build my Russian 91%'s at for DNA devices, crank up the watts a little but.

Got response from Vapor Shark support.. can use any 18650.. comes with a VTC 4, can bump it to a VTC5, I can also use the Purple efest IMR 18650 2500mAh 35 A's too. Got my Vape Mail too! REO Grand SL / LP. I'm so hooked up! Think Im done spending money for a while! lol

I was so in love with it and mad when it hapened that I ordered an other one , but the problem is that on there Web page says that any Dna or RDNA won't be ship until 8/7 or earlier, I'm deployed and it is going to take for ever to get here.

It depends on the juice of course, but I'm usually at 13.5-16 watts with a a 1.6 coil.

I got an older dna20 version, and the 510 went kaput. However, Vapor Shark has great customer service, and they will upgrade my unit with the newer 510, which I believe is more stable, and has a self adjustable, spring loaded 510 (please correct me if you know otherwise). I was going to put a fat daddy 510 on it, but it's too big.

I think they dont add any protection beyond what the DNA30 board provides, which is no reverse battery protection. I know Mike of ZEN added his own protections beyond the board at the battery level by not allowing a connection from a reverse battery. I think that is the only DNA maker that does that though. Although with so much out there I could be wrong.

I had an rDNA in my cart last night, but when I went to pay it kept bumping the shipping up to $32 for 2 day air instead of the free USPS. $190 for the rDNA was palatable (barely) but $32 for shipping was a deal breaker for me.
