The main reason why i want to start vaping is so i can smoke indoors once more.

Now i live with a ex-smoking roommate who will not care what it smells like even if it is the best thing on the face of the planet, if im "smoking" inside the house that will land me into some hot water,And because of this i only plan to vape inside my bedroom and behind closed doors, and maybe ill vape in the living room when she is not around.

But i know some juices can give off a scent but most people seem to say that it doesn't linger as long, But how long is that? 5 seconds,30 seconds,a minute, 5mins , 20 mins, and hour, longer?

Also what flavors are notorious for giving off a scent? And what about tobacco flavors?

Im also thinking about buying a bottle of 100% VG and vaping that (Seems to give alot of vapor and its alot cheaper) would that smell like anything?

We have a new member here who has a daughter who is allergic to EVERYTHING, and she hasen't had any reactiion to her Mom vaping. I've heard that someone MIGHT smell alittle bit, if they are sitting right next to you, but all they smell is what you're vaping at the moment, meaning they are smelling the flavoring. I've vaped in stores, restaurants, and even a Dr's office, without anyone knowing via smell. So while your roomy might not like it because you are vaping, I'd say your secret is safe as long as she dosen't actually SEE you doing it. Others will probably have more to add.

Edited to add: I just opened up both my VG and PG and took a wiff! lol! I can't smell much of anything.

hey fordun! also from mass. so welcome and note that there is a New England vapers group and i believe we meet this Sunday. it will be my first time going...it would be nice to see another noob there.

so, there's one thread I've been following that may give you some tips on what NOT to vape:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/273273-e-liquid-smells-like-wee.html

I've noticed that it's my beloved pink spot honey tobacco that smells like cat pee. doesn't taste that way...go figure.
nothing else I've tried recently smells bad.

what kind of flavors do you like?? it may help narrow it down....

May I suggest a diet change, beer beans and hard boiled eggs.
I am willing to bet in short order you room mate will love the smell of vaping;)

I live this. really, it must be awful to live with such a fussy roomate. there must be sooo many ways to convince her/him smells abound. get used to it. why should you hide in your room???

She has no reasoning and no matter what i saw or through information up she refutes it all.

I smoke a pipe and im not even allowed to keep my pipes and tobacco in my own room...its crap she says it makes a scent but i have left my pipe in my coat pocket in the living room for days and she didn't notice anything.

Anything else on how long it takes for a possible scent to go away?
