Hello! I'm new to this big box mod. I've used little pen vapes for a while and just moved onto a bigger one. I've just set this vape up and the vapor burns my tongue and the mouthpiece gets a little hot. Everything is new so I'm not sure. Maybe I didn't set it up correctly? Or maybe I'm just not used to it?

The air holes are all open and even on the lowest setting its that little bit hot.

Vaptio P1 50W SUB OHM

Any ideas? Thanks.

If you are only familiar with eGo's or vape pens, then sub-ohming with a high wattage regulated device is a major step up from a beginner's setup. The battery device tops out at 50 watts. The tank uses 0.2 sub-ohm coils. This is going to produce a much warmer vape than you have been used to. Try the suggestions below until you get used to using a more advanced setup.

- What settings (wattage) are you using on the battery device? I recommend starting out with a much lower setting (maybe 15 watts) and increase in increments until you find a setting that provides enough vapor and yet doesn't burn your tongue.

- Having the air holes wide open on the tank will give you a direct lung inhale, which might be a little too much for someone in your positon. You have been used to a mouth-to-lung draw with your vape pens, so close off the air holes a little (or a lot). Experiment to find what YOU like.

- It's normal for a metal mouthpiece to get warm, especially when using the hotter sub-ohm coils. You can probably can find a plastic (delrin) 510 mouthpiece to replace the metal one which will not get so warm.

If you have any other tips than metal use them instead. The tips on this new device should come off. Just twist a little while gently pulling. Should come right off.
Let us know how it goes and if you still need some more help with anything vape related just ask.
:)

Welcome and glad you joined. Don't feel too bad, you are not the first to try sub om'g and find it problematical. Sub om'g may not be for you.
