Hey all,

I'm relatively new to vaping, I've been at it for about two months and loving it, and I'm looking to move up to a mod, but the size always seems offputting.
I've lurked in a lot of threads and it seems like people are recommending newbies like myself to stay away from mechanical mods for a variety of reasons, so I'm trying to follow that advice, but I'm having trouble finding VV mods that aren't enormous.
I'm looking for something similar in size to the Silver Bullet - I don't mind thickness, but I don't want it to be hugely long. I've looked at the iTaste MVP, but I'd prefer a cylindrical device if possible, although this is the best that I've found so far.

Are there other mods out there that I should be looking at?

Thanks guys,

Nick

Mini Provari. Last pic is a Mini Provari next to an eGo Twist.

If a Provari is not in your price range, consider the Mini Z-Max. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/smoktek/419543-now-available-smoktek-com-smok-zmax-mini.html

You could use a K100 with a kick. With an 18350 battery it's short and the kick makes it VV. Price would be cheap too.

I'll take a look - I've mainly tried to stay away from looking at mechs since so many people have recommended a first mod to be VV, but I'll look into the Kick and how to use it. Thanks man, I appreciate the help.

NickSparc-- I love my Sigelei Mini ZMaz. I have a 650 spinner and an 1100 spinner. The Sigelei Mini is a tick longer than 3.5 inches, just a little taller than my 650 spinner, and an inch shorter than the 1100. It is definitely wider! I can set it on a quarter, and the edges of the coin show like a frame around the diameter of the Sigelei.
I LOVE the Sigelei, but for running around town, I do prefer the 650 spinner. What I like about the Sigelei is that the vape seems....fuller, and richer. A 18350 battery seems to last about 6 hours or so for me, so it might necessitate carrying a spare. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Most variable voltage mods will have built-in ohm meter and a battery voltage meter, both extremely convenient to be able to check the resistance of your delivery device, or to check how long you'll have on your battery. A mechanical mod will not have that. Variable voltage mods will also have built-in electrical protection to protect you and your mod from short circuits and hard shorts. A mechanical mod will not have that.

Why not get something that handles a wide variety of battery sizes with a single unit? Big battery at home, smaller battery when you moving around. This device has all of the features.

Measurements of VV/VW Sigelei Zmax V3 Telescopic flat top (length = battery cap end to top of 510 connector)

-Outside diameter is about 7/8" or 23mm.
-With 18650 the Sigelei tube is fully extended at 5 1/32" or 128mm long.
-With 18500 it's 4 7/16" or 112mm long.
-With 18350 the tube is fully shortened and measures 4 1/8" or 105 mm.

You can make these length measurements a bit shorter by tightening down the tube a little more than I do.

Ah, it seems like VV is the way to go for me then, those all sound like functions that I'd prefer to have, plus added safety is a plus.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've never heard of it, I thought Sigeili only made mechanical mods, but that looks great! Thanks so much!

I'm looking into that mod right now - telescoping was something that I really liked in some of the mechanical mods I looked at, but didn't know that there were VV mods that did as well. This one might be the mod for me - thanks for the reply!

i have a vamo v3 and an innokin svd, they are pretty inexpensive vv/vw mods and when used with an 18350 battery, they are relatively small. They are very easy to use. if you have the cash, get the provari mini, you'll be buried with that thing. if not like many others have said the zmax mini is great too.

I have a K100 but no idea what a kick is. Could someone please explain?

I'm no expert, but it looks like it's a small chip that you put on top of a battery that allows you to change the voltage output.
GrimmGreen put out an episode on it, he does a better job of explaining it than I do - DO YOU WANNA GET KICKED? - YouTube

Yup. It basically turns a mechanical mod into a variable wattage device. I believe it also provides some battery protections if I'm not mistaken; the Kick 2 just came out recently.
