RDA velocity rda - loose top cap

Got myself an authentic Velocity rda. However the outer top cap seems too loose. I can wiggle it vertically about 1mm. Is this normal?

I'm also getting leaks when between the rda and my mod. It's def not coming out of the 510. It's just around it by the outer edges of the rda. Is this normal. The place that I bought it from don't carry clones so I'm just worried if I got a dud.

Authentic here. Top cap does not wiggle unless physically moved. A light pull moves it up ~0.5mm to 1mm before it pops off. Mine will spray and leak out of the airflow slots but has never leaked from the bottom.

Did u replace any orings?

Re: the leaking, check your wicks. With mine, I've noticed that if I let my wicks hang on the edge of the base even a little, some juice will travel down the outside and collect underneath. If I make sure they're completely contained in the well, no juice outside the atty.

No. I am still on the original o-rings (18mm x 1mm if you need to replace them).

BINGO! just tried using slightly skinnier wicks. No more leaks. No a drop! thanks!

i guess you can say mine is just like yours. it does move 1mm vertically. How about everyone else ?? do yours move ??

my velocity clone is much tighter.

the airflow on the authentic is def airier for some reason. when i compare it to the clone with the exact amount of opening on the cyclops, the authentic seems to get more air. its not making any sense to me.

I have a clone with a somewhat loose cap, just put a round of teflon tape on top of the orings to make it more snug... works well.

1:1 Clone .. mine is pretty snug, hardly any side to side movement.

i just got a new authentic when Avid put them up a few days ago. it was gone in a few hours tho. But this batch is definitely tighter and better feel when twisting.

my tobeco black clone too is pretty snug. i can hardly move it. The authentics def have looser feel to the outer caps.

Hmm, try taking it back and compare with another one they have in the store.
Mine is pretty snug but its not too lose as you have described.
Unless it comes off just by holding it upside down or shaking, I wouldn't be too much concerned about it.
