As others have said, the folks that make the SB are easy to work with (per testmonials, not personal experience). If they don't have a route through them to get it vented, you have other options. I live in a very small tourist and military town. Translation, not a lot of variety but...
Even in a small town, machinists are needed. Even a skilled hobbyist will likely have or have access to, a variable speed drill press. These have the drilling portion adjustable for angles but are drilling downward in their normal postions. They also have vice-like blocks for securing almost any object or finish to prevent it from squirming around while you're working with it.
Two of the three SB colors are platings but that is also where the variable speed comes in. Since the item is strongly secured against movement, other places on the tubing or cap wont get marred from retention. Obviously you will want to mark your target before drilling and after measuring. Even with plating, a slow speed to start the procedure will initiate the hole as a guide then high speed to make the actual hole.
Sounds complicated but it's not. If you don't have a machine shop available, check for any place that does firearms repair or customization. They will have one most likely. Bottom line is it isn't that big of an operation and if you have someone you trust or feel comfortable with, use them. And as to the drill press, I speak from experience.
I was a law enforcement officer for 27 years and have been a firearms fan most of my life. I literally worked on the weapons that I and other officers depended on to save ours and others lives. The only reason I am having the maker of my Precise P-18 do my venting is he is a consumate professional and he includes such options in his lifetime warranty. I also have a spinal injury now so I wouldn't try to drill a hole in a block of wood.
Just don't stress over it. You asked for feedback and you have heard from some true e-cig vets like Dspin and others. You bought a fine PV and when you finish adding the vent holes, no matter who does it, you'll have a fine PV with an extra measure of safety.
