vent style differences

anyone else notice a difference in the vent styles on cartos? vision regular and ce2 have the holes in the side, they vape without issue on any battery.

vision giant and stone have the slits down the side and no matter what I do, I can't get through a full tank usually without having to take it out and blow through the mouthpiece to clear the tubes at some point.

anyone have any ideas how to fix this? i filed down the vent holes, that seems to help a little but the cartos with slits down the side instead of holes still inevitably get stuck with liquid at in the battery and no way for air to get through.

I was thinking of a 510-510 adapter and maybe drilling the bottom or slotting it all the way down on two sides assuming it will still be strong enough to thread the carto into. that should give it air although there will still be liquid leaking when it does get to the bottom.
