Deep rich complex flavors in this one

This reminds me so much of the grilled sweet corn you get at the state fair. All of the flavors are distinct, but there isn't one that overpowers the others. Notes of nutty, sweet, cream, butter, toasty grain, smooth tobacco, and a peppery finish on the tongue. Perfection! This was steeped for 18 days and vaped at 3.7V with a 2.7 ohm cartomizer. Lots of vapor and flavor, and the throat hit is smooth and sustained. This one definitely deserves a spot on the podium!

The KY #7 uses the KY Premium as a base and adds several more layers. It's described as a bourbon tobacco, but I get no liquor or alcohol flavor from it. To me, it tastes more like the raw mash used to make bourbon, which adds the buttery grain flavor to the sweet nutty tobacco base of the Premium Blend.

A truly complex mix that I am surprised more people aren't talking about. KY Blend No. 7 should be at the top of everybody's wish list. SRS!

FYI VR offers a free 4.5ml sample with every order, so try this one risk-free. As a bonus, the sampler bottles are all brown glass bottles with dropper tops. How cool is that!?

How do they make their tobacco flavors? absolute? steep? natural/artificial flavorings? After a couple years it seems like I have tried every "flavoring" - it's those flavorings exclusive to a vendor that intrigue me... heard a lot of positive about vr...

I wish i had answers for you as far as where their flavorings come from, or if they do their own extractions. No clue.

I did mention steeping in the quoted review. I let this one sit in a drawer for over 2 weeks. I tried it when it first came in by dripping on an atty, and the flavors were there, but they weren't meshing well and were unbalanced. After steeping, the flavors really came together and each one compliments the next.

I am still very new to vaping, but I have tried some of the gotta have flavors, including Boba's and CC House Blend, and I just thought that the VR Blend #7 is easily as satisfying as the aforementioned, and it has a unique flavor that I find can stand out in the crowd.

What do you mean by "absolute?" ??

That's the $1,000,000 question...

yeah... or the $20+/- question for me... I recently paid about $25 including shipping for a tobacco liquid from a new company everyone was raving about... we use 100% usa ingredients etc... a unique blend of flavors etc... they made it sound like they were doing something unusual or unique... which they weren't... they were merely squirting someone elses' somewhat overused flavor into their nic and base... that's all... decent liquid, but the tobacco flavor was already familiar to me... it's from Pefumer's apprentice... good flavor... but I already had a liquid that uses the same flavoring... didn't need to buy another - so VR looks like a company that might have a truly unique flavor... just wanted some confidence before I send them thirty or forty bucks...

I don't know how they make it either, but VR is my favorite vendor for tobacco flavors. I even like the kentucky premium fruit flavors, and I normally pass on all fruit vapes. I've only been interested in whiskey flavors as part of irish cream blends in the past, maybe it's time to give #7 a try...thanks for the review...

I think I am going to call them up and see if I can't get an answer for you. I am curious myself. I am starting to look out for vendors that do their own extractions and reductions.
Don't quote me on this, but I believe VR's no frills tobacco base is the Classic Blend, and that is used as the base for all of the other tobacco flavors. The Classic has a very pleasant "ashtray" flavor. :vapor:

NP You can balme me if you don't like #7 :p

I really enjoy the Applewood Premium myself. It's a nice woodsy tart green apple flavor that contrasts really well with the nutty caramel of the Premium Blend.

I think vermillion river has a very unique, rich flavor. I have tried butter rum, kentucky peachwood, and the vanilla tobacco. They all have a really strong rich flavor that i love!

I had the Butter Rum - Exactly what I expected. Buttery caramel with a kick. Really spot on.
The KY Peachwood is nice, but I don't get much peach. It's more of a smoky version of the KY Premium.
Haven't tried the KY Vanilla yet.

Thanks for the write-up...looking around now, and the reviews really help me to pinpoint my choices ;)

The problem is that you can't trust someone's else's palate, as you might not like what others like. With that said, if the description appeals to you, go for it! :)

spaceballs,
right now I think the descriptions will work. Since my palate has not yet returned, I don't think it's as disconcerting as some of yours, which has most likely fully functioning by now. So when mine finally reawakes, I'll know for sure. In the meantime, you guys seem like a fine group to trust with my now-numb tastie-buds ;)

I really like Butter Rum as well. Peachwood not so much... To me, the peach is pretty overwhelming. Applewood, maplewood, and the vanilla blend are also fantastic.

The Maplewood is an interesting juice. It basically substitutes maple syrup for the caramel in the original Premium. Just a slight alteration, and very pleasant.

I have to admit that I still smoke the analogs at the moment, but I do have a "trained" palate. I am a classically trained chef of 15 years, so I like to think I know what I'm doing, despite the stinkies.

Tasting juices is very similar to tasting wines, fine liquors, beer, . You check the juice for color, clarity, and consistency. You smell it to find the bouquet. You taste/toke it to find the flavors, which should have at least a beginning, middle, and end/finish. There is even a mouthfeel to ejuice. When done, you have to clean the palate and ready it for the next flavor. I do this by drinking, swishing, and gargling water. You can even eat unsalted crackers to really clean off your taste buds between flavors. Tasting things takes effort to do correctly, no matter what state you taste buds are in. Heck, even the time of day has an effect on your lil' buds. The best part: SUBJECTIVITY.

We need to have a tasting party...and serve virtual cheese and crackers for this! :)

Spaceballs, I've looked at it that way too. It is an experience much different than cigarettes. I think all the chemicals and poisons they throw in them actually ruin any taste that may have been there. All they did was cause an addiction to the poisons.

The water vapor we are experiencing from vaping allows for a true flavor to come through.
Aside from the fact that many of us are actually looking for the physical movements we went through with the ciggies-the holding, putting in mouth, etc...this is a different experience that I am thoroughly enjoying.
Maybe someone can head up that tasting party and make a vid for us...
Spaceballs, you get my first vote, as being a chef is a great prerequisite, yes? ;)

Kentucky Applewood/Cherrywood are joint number 1 for me when it comes to all day vapes they are my absolute favorite, along with Pink Spot Vapor's Outlaw (555)

simply magic, I am soon to try Midnight Apple by Halo as the description is very similar to that of Kentucky Applewood. will get back to you on that one.

Do you get any cherry with the Cherrywood? I get a fruity sweetness, but it's not really defined.

The applewood, on the other hand, is an in your face woodsy tart green apple that I LOVE! The nutty sweetness of the Premium adds another layer that isn't found in my BWB Applewood, which is just as good, but a totally different animal.
