If you, or Anyone, has the House Roll Call Votes for H.26, it would be Great to post them.
What I know about local government is fairly shameful, but I’ve only lived in this state for a few years and been raising kids most of that time.
Anyway, I don’t think H26 has run its course yet. It needs a “third reading” before it passes, so no roll call as of yet if I understand you correctly.

Here is a link to the sponsorers, George Till is the primary instigator:

Bill Status H.26

Each name on the list is a link to their contact information.

I always try to encourage people to get involved but they have a tendancy to only pay attention when it directly involves them personally.
They're raising taxes on tobacco
So what? I don't smoke
They're raisng taxes on soda
So what? I don't drink soda
They're raising taxes on ammunition
So what? I don't have a gun
They're raising property taxes
So what? I rent
They're raising taxes on gaaoline
So what? I don't drive
They're raising taxes on ......
So what? I don't ......
They're raising taxes on vaping products
HOLY CRAP! THEY CAN'T DO THAT! I vape!

In your link, scroll down to the "Detailed Status". Then see the Last Entry for the House (Second from the Top of the List).

The status is "Passed House, in Senate".

This tells you that there was a Quorum House Floor Vote to advance the Bill to the Senate. And it did get enough Votes to advance.

What I would like to know, and what Any Vermont Vaper (hopefully) would want to know, is Who Voted to Advance this Bill. And Who Voted to Not Advance it.

That is what a Roll Call Vote tells you. But it Isn't on that page. And I Can't find it anywhere.

I don't have those but the Vermont house is held by dems (95) and progressives (7). With republicans being the clear minority (43) the bill would have had to have democrats support either way.. but it does seem authored by a dem..although I've not done enough research to be positive yet..

from outside site:

"The Vermont House voted to pass a bill (H.47), which places an excise tax on the liquids and delivery devices of e-cigarettes to discourage use among youth who are the most price-sensitive consumers. Just as we tax other tobacco products, 92 percent of the wholesale value of e-cigs will be collected at the licensed distributor level and used for prevention purposes. This is an important public health measure that will improve the health of our communities. Under consideration is H. 26 which would restrict internet sales of e-cigarettes, liquid nicotine and tobacco paraphernalia in Vermont."

House passes excise tax bill on e-cigarettes - Shelburne News

the 92% excise tax is the story.. that is actually the biggest part, in my opinion, the internet sales ban is to avoid people getting around the tax.

Here is the roll call votes on the 92% excise tax.

I found who introduced it! (Yea!)

lol..

"Introduced by Representatives Till of Jericho, LaLonde of South Burlington, Brumsted of Shelburne, Colburn of Burlington, Conlon of Cornwall, Conquest of Newbury, Donovan of Burlington, Houghton of Essex, Kimbell of Woodstock, Lanpher of Vergennes, Lippert of Hinesburg, Macaig of Williston, McCullough of Williston, Mrowicki of Putney, Ode of Burlington, Patt of Worcester, Scheu of Middlebury, Squirrell of Underhill, Sullivan of Burlington, Troiano of Stannard, Yacovone of Morristown, and Yantachka of Charlotte..."

That's who introduced the bill..

I can't find the roll call votes.. maybe you'll have better luck.. I'm here:

Bill Status H.26

It says roll call votes (0) and where there should be a roll call list there isn't one.

It seems they passed it onto Senate without a roll call, somehow and for some reason..

It was Pence who signed that illegal vape legislation into effect in Indiana. Just say'in

Nothing is as it seems any more though..

When the democratic party began going left, dems jumped ship and started taking over the republican party, hence the term neocon or republican "elite" or other terms because conservatives they aren't.

Probably off topic though.

These days I don't even pay attention to who's in which party as their individual "policy initiatives" are all over the place. Then they flip positions when you're not looking with no ides why they changed their mind. No wonder nothing ever gets done.

Their votes aren't swayed by which party they belong to; their votes are determined by who pays for their campaign.

The guys pushing this aren't Name-R or Name-D. They're Name-T(obacco).

The top 5 recipients from the Tobacco PAC: 3 republicans and 2 democrats. Two from VA (D) and three from NC (R). I don't think it matters which party they belong to. It's more about which states they represent. Ignorant Canadian here, but don't they grow tobacco in VA and NC?

I don't understand why Americans haven't made any fuss about their politicians being bought and votes paid for. How is this problem not apparent yet?

Also doesn't help that corps can hold jobs hostage.

Because unlike corporations, after taxes the average American doesn't have enough money left over to fund their own PACs.

Besides in VA and NC (and some other states) tobacco is still a big business supplying lots of jobs. Shut them down and you put a lot of people out of work. So the math is simple for those politicians, support the industry or get voted out of office by all the unemployed they created.

I agree & that makes more sense.

For a non-American there's nothing more frustrating than seeing someone blame the Republicans or Democrats for something just because they're Republicans or Democrats.

To me it seems that people inherit their party of choice the same way they pick their favourite football team. If dad is a Broncos fan and only watched them while you were growing up, talking to you about how Elway is the second coming of Jesus and their style of offense is the best offense... when you grow up you 100% support the Broncos, think Elway is the best thing ever, and will only support their style of offense.

American politics, from my point of view, has devolved into a sport whose lack of action is only rivaled by baseball.

My point:

When you live in an area where on TV they only show the Broncos. Where on the radio they only talk about Broncos games. When your friends and family wear Broncos jerseys and talk about how great the team is doing. You walk into a grocery store and there are cut outs of Broncos players near the cereal aisle. Where when you go for a smoke break the guys only talk about Broncos prospects, scouting, and draft picks... you end up with opinions like this about the Broncos:

Keep putting those beloved democrats in office!

George Till is the author. I’m pretty sure he tried something similar a couple of years ago.

Well he's succeeded in getting the excise tax to pass the house. It's passed with 134 votes, nearly every member of the Vermont house.

This will nearly double the current prices on both gear and liquids in your state provided it passes in your Senate, and with that much bi-partisan support it likely will.

The ban on internet sales is to control that source of tax revenue -to make sure they get it and yes, they will likely get the majority of out-of-state vape shops to stop selling to Vermont residents.

Do you have freinds outside your state? You'll probably like some..

That's why living in NY is so great. We have the Yankees and the Mets to cover baseball, and then the Giants and the Jets. So we're used to partisan ideologies, and the occasional brawl on the subway.

There was a House Floor Vote to get it to the Senate.

It just looks like the Website for the Bill, or the Individual Reps, hasn't been updated to include the Roll Call.

Kinda talks the wind out of the One Side always Votes for and One Side always Votes against thing.
