The first change noticed is the addition of the V4L on the battery itself, after that is the size difference. The new egos are roughly 4-5cm shorter than the previous because they removed the pt feature. The reason it was removed had to do with safety concerns of people charging it via the usb dongle overnight. Some may not be happy about this, but keep in mind even as a pt it wouldn't run any higher than 4.02v on load, that's less than a freshly charged king diamond or an actual pt (5v).

Everything else is still the same as on the original version. Here's the link to the original review:

A little lower than the previous version, but not a huge drop in performance. Just like with the prior egos, these are designed for those who put battery life over voltage and airflow.

I am guilty of preferring battery life over voltage, so I guess I shall forever be an Egomaniac! However, I am now also using my tank on the xl battery and loved the picture of it on the website. I also felt it looked strange, but now I think it looks kinda sexy! Shows what marketing will do!

Great info Morandir! Thanks for taking the time to review and compare the versions. I for one never used the PT so was glad it was shorter.

Good stuff as always Morandir, thank you!

Just wondering on the last set of numbers, is that a SVCTC?

Those numbers are very revealing...they certainly do tell a story...that is if you understand what they mean. What are the mAh rating...900? Hmmm.....might as well be 90,000 I guess. Talk about a forever drop-off, too bad they can't improve the IC even if it cut the overall performance time by 25%.

Look at those 1.5 DVCT numbers....261 minutes..impressive, but 153 of those minutes are 3.7v or less..not too impressive. I'm actually being a little gracious since I consider premium voltage above 3.8v. As advertised and discussed previously here I guess these are great for those folks that desire a very mild, cool vape, and longer performance times.

Sick indeed Bham, like an Olympic 400 Meter Track runner with a bad cold. At the first 100 meters he is on pace at 10.75 seconds, the second 100 meters his time drops to 15 seconds, the third 100 meters his drops down even more to 20 seconds and finally hits the finish line after running the last 100 meters in 30 seconds finishing last at 1:10:75.

Longer performance times? Yes. Longer quality vaping time for the advertised "higher mAh" rating compared to a Diamond XL? I guess folks will have to draw their own conclusion on that based on their individual vaping satisfaction.

Snow sir that's the mega carto for the last test, so it's the MDCTC. :)

Couldn't agree more with you sir, they're like so many unregulated batts on the market, start the race strong then.... They are indeed 900mah. Both the ic and the cell would have to be changed to get a boost, these use standard lithium ion cells instead of the IMR (high drain) cells like that of the king diamonds and stealths (VT and non-VT). Unless you have the cell to match the use of an adavanced ic, there's no point. It's like running a high end vv mod with a low output battery, the batteries just can't keep up with the prower reqiurements the mod's needs. Gen 2 and standard 510 batts run at a constant 3.6v (=/- .8v on the higher binned carriers of Gen 2 stuff) or 3.2v-3.4v (depending on the maker of the 510 equipment, with .05 +/- the fault tolerance on joye 510's, +/- .12 on other makers). They do this because they both contain non-high drain cells (LiFePo4 for the Gen 2, standard Lithium Ion for 510's).

Nice metaphor there , Sir Snow! (seriously)
