Hi All,

I noticed a sign on a tobacco store yesterday saying "Electronic Cigarettes In Stock" and was very curious what they were talking about. So I went into the store and kind of learned about them from the clerk. I ended up buying a DE-5082. It came with 2 batteries, 3 carts, and 1 atomizer. Got the thing home and gave it a try. I soon noticed that I wasnt getting that much vapor, but the nicotine was definatly there and I ended up smoking less analogs then I usually do. I burned through the 3 carts by the end of today and went back to the store to get some more. I mentioned to the guy that im not getting alot of vapor and he said that one hit is equal to 4 or 5 hits of a analog, but the vapor part varies. So as of a few hours ago it stopped producing vapor and is giving off a burning taste/smell. Im guessing that the atomizer went out on it. So that being said, I started researching these things and could not find anything on my model. Im assuming it is a cheap knock off(although I dont concider $60 cheap). While I was researching I watched a few vids of other, more popular e-cigs and WOW... I obviously got ripped off on this thing. So to make a long story short, I ended up buying a Wicked-510 Titan E-Ni, some refillable carts, and some e juice from Johnson Creek. Ive read some reviews about the 510's and they seem to be the most appealing at this point. I just wanted to check in with some of the vets to see if this is a good one or not.

Hi and welcome to ECF! You did good getting a 510 and some e-liquid. The only thing about the 510s is the short battery life. You can get a PCC (personal charging case) for your 510 that will keep your battery charged. As you check out the forum more, you'll see folks talking about bigger battery options usually called "mods". Once you get a feel for the e-cig in general, you may want to look into one of these. There's lots of information available, but if you have any questions, just ask. There's lots of good folks around that will be glad to help you.

Good luck!

Yay! Im really hoping to curve analogs with this thing. Ive been spending far too much money on them, and my wife is always bugging me about the smell. As for the batteries, I did read up about their low performance times and I dont think it will be a problem due to the fact im constantly driving my work vehicle and I have a inverter in it so I can charge on the go. Thanks for the reply.

The learning curve is not that bad. Just take your time and don't get frustrated. with time you will love these things. I smoked analogs for over thirty years and it took only one week for me to completely drop them. Bookmark this site as there is a plethora of infomation here from some pretty intelligent folks that have experience with these things. I learn something new everytime I log in..... Welcome

I agree - take your time and experiment, and don't assume that you'll be tied to one ecig. You may find that the original one has a purpose in certain situations. And if nothing else, you'll have an emergency backup if something happens to your primary ecig!

To add to what bassn99 says, you will definitely find your own way of vaping. If you look at the threads here, you'll see that people vary in their preferences on pretty much every aspect of the experience - types of ecigs, batteries, flavors and nicotine, cartridge filling, you name it! :)

Hi,
I see you got de-5082 model. I also bought the same model because
they are cheaper than usual e-cig models. At first, I had the
same problem you mentioned (bad burning smell after cca 12
hours of smoking), but I took some time and figured it out.
Now I use new cartridge for every two days and combine it
with e-liquid (7-8 drops per day),but not more than two days! Since then everything works well.
Bad smell comes when atomizer heats a blank cartridge in my opinion,
so I don't believe it's a problem with atomizer. Batteries worked well for first
2 or 3 months for about 200 puffs and after that 100 puffs or less.
problem is that people must take into account that the Super mini
models as themselves are smaller than others that do not normally work
through the switch and they should be respected as such. Each breath
of smoke must be taken at intervals of at least 10-15 seconds and
everything works as expected. And of course do not forget about the
size of the cartridge and quantity of liquid that it can produce.:thumb:
