Hey, so two days back I just received my fogger v4.1 from yiloong, was so excited, immediately build dual coils, coming out to be 0.9 ohms but one coil is always slower to glow, it also took a really long time before any of the coils would glow, about ten seconds? But I guess that is because my itaste vv v3 is not powerful enough to support it. Never mind about that since I'm receiving a ipv v2 soon. The real problem here is, I build a single coil on the fogger right above one of the air hole, nice and tight, glow perfect and looks really promising wicked it up assembled with no leakage whatsoever. However every time I take a hit (lung/throat) when exhaling my lungs felt so tight and faced difficulty is breathing for awhile. Not wanting to give up, I tried different coil builds (all around 0.9 to 2.4 ohms) and the results are all the same leaving me with really tight lungs when exhaling and difficulty in breathing. So then I thought it is the problem with the juice but no, it isn't. As I use the same juice and fill it into my kanger t3s with a coil I rebuilt to 1.4 ohms, and it vapes really nice, nice dense vape although lacking the flavor but at least I don't have to suffer those tight lungs feeling and breathing difficulty does anyone here had the same experience before? Please advice on how I can improve it because I'm really so disappointed for waiting so long before the fogger arrives and now that it is here, I don't get to enjoy the experience like how many has described it to be. Cheers guys!

*sorry if I post it in the wrong section, please help correct.

It sounds like you are metering things...but still it seems like you might be inhaling a shorted coil...

You've tried the same bottle of juice in a different set up right ?

Have you tried a different juice in the Fogger ? That would be a clue it's a short if it does the same thing.

Coil or tail touching the cap ? A tiny piece of clipped off wire causing grief ?

Did you wash the Fogger before using it ?

Are you sure your wicking material is wet enough ?

Thanks guys for the helpful reply! I managed to built a dual coil 11 wraps each with the wires that came with the fogger, both coils glow up nicely, looks decent and tight, wicked it up, definitely enough wick (watched tons of videos on how to build it) now it vapes fine, with nice flavor however the vapor production is just poor, poorer than my kanger t3s at 1.1 ohms 28 gauge kanthal and cotton wick.. Wonder if it's really the itaste that is not providing enough power. Vamping at 4.8 volts by the way.

Is this your first rebuildable? The major difference between rebuildables and standard clearos is that the coil builds are much larger - this leads to a bigger surface area for vaporizing e-liquid, which produces much more vapor.

When I got my first rebuildable I dripped with my usual juice at 24 mg, and I felt like I couldn't breathe! It's just too much nicotine being inhaled all at once. I dialed it back to 9 mg for my drippers, and now I'm vaping comfortably.

Also, you mentioned that you may not have enough power? If you're vaping at 4.8 volts, with a 0.9 ohm coil setup your output would be 25.6 watts! If anything it sounds a tad high, and you may be having some trouble with dry wicks then... I agree that it would be worth investing in a variable wattage device though, then you won't have to worry as much about the exact resistance of your coils.

If your power was really too weak, it's unlikely you would be having trouble breathing. If anything you'd have a weak, unsatisfying hit.

You can find your power by the equation P = V*V/R

Also practice different wicking techniques. You want to make sure you're not stuffing too much cotton into the coil, that can choke off it's juice supply and give you dry hits.

I hope this helps :)

I tend to agree on the increased vapor production adding to your problem. For a while I started vaping at 5+ volts on my mod. While the clouds of vapor were impressive, my chest would tighten right up like I was having an asthma attack. Switching back to the normal 4.2 volts was not only best for me, but allowed a more favorable vape.

hey guys, sorry for this late reply, anyway I managed to fin out the problem. It has nothing to do with my build or wicking or voltage/wattage. The problem was the juice, I realized it after diluting my 18 mg juice with vg. I'm now vaping comfortably at 7.2mg and added some menthol crystals to get a cooling effect and it does smooth things out. Thanks guys!

    Hi all,

Last night I rebuilt my Ithaka to a dual-X-coil setup. I used 32g Kanthal, 6/5 for every coil, giving me a total resistance of 1.2ohms. I used Carrefour branded cotton pads (the packaging says 100% cotton), cut in strips and split in two. I didn't boil the cotton before use. I gave it a go and my first impression was "wow!". Finally, I got the warm, rich vapour with full flavour I was looking for from my Ithaka!

Today, I realized that I feel some kind of discomfort in my lungs when I use the new cotton setup. I had to give up after a total of 50 puffs. Even now if I take one single puff it feels like some weight on my chest, and as if I inhaled something really really thick. It almost feels as kind of a heartburn as well.

I'm using the same e-liquid I've been using for the past two months, a 9mg 50/50 tobacco flavour. Never had any issues with that liquid before on the Ithaka, even on dual-coil setups. I am also using cotton as wick in my Aquilo 22 clone (dual micro-coils) , and my dripper and have never had any discomfort with that , although the cotton I used for those was Johnson's pure cotton balls (100%) , boiled.

I'm thinking it's Carrefour's cotton to blame, but I will give it another go with another 50/50 - 0mg liquid. If it's still there, then it's the cotton.

Point is, does it really make all this difference to boil your cotton? Could that 100% cotton I used be so full in bleach and pesticides that it can make me feel bad with only one puff?

This is a picture I took 5 mins ago. Is that cotton burnt? I think it's normal to be a little dark around the coils. I haven't tasted any dry hits at all and I don't have any shorts, the two coils are separated with a thin layer of cotton.

Anyway, I changed to a 50/50 0mg liquid now and I will give it another try...
