Yes it is a struggle for me everyday. Simply because I loved to smoke. I think most people get to the point of burning out...worrying about atty's, cartos, juice, batteries, and upkeep. The main reasons I don't go back to smoking is this: I hate the smell, vaping is healthier and tastier, and I'm doing it to hopefully live long enough to bounce a couple of grandbabies on my knee. I keep all of this in my mind when wanting a cigarette tries to wiggle it's way in.

It's not hard at all for me because I despised smoking but was addicted. When I found out about e-cigs I got on board right away. I don't miss tobacco and rarely even think about it anymore. Ocassionally I'll wonder what ever attracted me to smoking and consider trying a cigarette again, but then I think back to 1 1/2 years ago when I had my last one and how disgusting it tasted. I'll never go back, I'd just quit nicotine altogether first. I've been considering it anyway. Vaping has made that a real possibility.

So far, it hasn't been a struggle for me at all. (Knock wood)

I'd smoked since 1984, except for a period of about 6 years. Once I started with my V2s, I didn't have the urge to light up at all. I still had an ash bucket outside my back door, and when I would step outside to go to the convenience store or check the mail, I would catch a whiff and be totally put off from smoking.

I did find a half-smoked Marlboro Light (I called 'em refries) that I did light up since I couldn't bear to waste something that was so important for my entire adult life...and it was gawdawful.

I'm one of the lucky ones, I s'pose. I haven't looked back, even under stress. I just keep thinking back to that smell, and trying that last smoke, and I put it out of my mind.

I'm not a veteran in terms of this board but I've been using ecigarettes exclusively for a year now

in the beginning I couldn't do it...I would vape only where I couldn't smoke...then I got some 510 stuff, discovered good juice and ultimately accepted vaping as my new smoking...

I kept a pack of cigarettes around for almost a month in case I "couldn't handle it anymore"...but that day never came...not even close

it's a process but it will happen if you keep it up...it can be difficult but in no way as difficult as quitting...you're still getting your nicotine and you're still getting your oral gratification as well as a smoke-like result...so it's really all a mental thing...in your mind cigarettes are your "fix"...it's just a matter of fully accepting your e cigarette as your "fix"

I have a pack of smokes in my garage that I found a couple years ago in my glove box on my scoot. I don't know exactly how old they are but I know they're pre-FSC in PA and not the last brand I smoked. They're probably well over 3 years old now. I swore when I found them that if I wanted another cigarette I'd have to smoke those first. The pack remains unopened and I'm just short of a year and nine months since my last drag on a smoke.

I went 43 years smoking 2-3 packs a day at the end. I'd probably still be smoking some if I hadn't found Swedish snus which for me handled what I was missing in cigarettes. I sort of went away from vaping except in rare social situations until WTA nicquid arrived. Now I vape maybe a third of a ml a day. I also had a couple friends turn me on to some nasal snuff which I thought I'd dislike and found a couple sniffs of that a day can be very pleasant.

Nah, cigarettes aren't even in my fond memories anymore but I still like the smell if it isn't too dense.

I would have absolutely no struggles with vaping if my juices would just taste the same all the time. I'll find a couple flavors I love and vape them for a month then they just start tasting dull. Its so very frustrating because I'm so picky about juices and the few that I loved just don't taste the same anymore. I have about 6 that I like and if my taste buds start getting burnt out on one I'll go back to something different but now it's just at the point where all of them just don't do it for me anymore. I don't get it.

I don't necessarily struggle but , since hubby and son both still smoke, occasionally I'll catch a scent just right and crave, I vape through it. Also will occasionally pass hubby's box of smokes and it's a draw but then I remember I vape and it tastes better and keep walking.
I thought I would have a problem recently when hospitalized (in the past I was like a junkie by the time they set me free ) I didn't even miss smoking or vaping while in the hospital , half way home though, after two cigarettes smoked next to me, and I was grappling for my pv. I look forward to the day that I pick it up here , or there, and not constantly. because of the hospital I know I can do it with ease. am just enjoying my danish pastry way to much to put it down lol.

Here and back
@emanguba - Strange you would still have the craving so intensely. Next month will be two years for me. It was hard the first few months, not anymore. On very, very rare occasions I have a craving once every 4-5 months with stress but easily passes in minutes. Smelling cigs on someone else just puts me off.

I wonder now if I'll ever get off e cigs. I'm as addicted to them as I was cigs.

Might help to invest into vaping if you haven;t yet - so you feel good about having some good kit and options.

Mu go-to is a generic 808 that i found to be excellent, though I have various gizmos i made too; so needn't be expensive.

If it feels more 'biochemical' and good kit and flavors doesn't cure it, look into WTA or snus as an addition.

Interesting. For me no - no struggles, "mourning" or problematic cravings. At a little over six months I never see myself going back. Every time I run across a smoking experience - someone else's, not mine - the turn off just gets worse. A few weeks back I sat down next to someone on a bus and everything about the person just reeked of layers of stale smoke. I wanted to get up and move. Couple days ago two people were smoking in front of me outdoors and the cigarette smoke made me nauseous. Any personal "wanna cigarette" cravings I get - which are very few and very tiny - are always juxtaposed with recalling these experiences.

OTOH I know several people who quit in conventional ways - cold turkey, gum, patch etc. - and they are all still having major cravings after being quit in the two year range. I'm always putting e-cigs out there as an option if they feel they are going to fail and "want" to go back to smoking.

I know we are going off topic a but but I had to give out a "me too" about a recent hospital stay. I had no idea how that two days was going to go. Much to my surprise I just left my PV in my bag and I was ok without using during the entire stay. Didn't see that one coming!
