For me I use 100% PG, it give me the throat hit, flavor and just as much if not more on exhale than a cigarette. I have never seen what's behind having to be able to fill a room with vapor every time you exhale, I do this to keep from smoking analogs not impress people. So the big points to me are throat hit and flavor and PG gives me plenty of vapor.

I've always vaped pure PG liquids and get big thick clouds and excellent TH and flavor. I dont get this whole "PG does not give you much vapor " bit. There was no VG juice when I started vaping and now everyone is having a vapor blowing contest. I think that HUGE dense clouds of vapor are the very reason that vaping will never be accepted indoors, its just overkill IMO. Ever watch a smoker exhale? Even the crappiest PG based juice will out do it.

I'm with Neon and Bardic, why are most people concerned with those "hey, look at me" giant clouds of vapor. It's rediculous. I started vaping to quit analogs, not draw attention to the smoke coming out of my mouth. I want nicotine, flavor, some vapor and no analogs. Sorry, just my two cents.

Oh, one more thing. Why does every person doing an ecig related video feel the need to blow smoke rings? Who really thinks that a smoke ring is cool? I think they stopped being cool in high school. So I propose that anyone over the age of 18 stop doing smoke rings.

Ok, now I'm done. Have a great day!!!!

Actually, vapor production is important to some for the same reason throat hit is important to me: It's what they need to convince their brains that it's just as good as, or better than, analogs, and it's what keeps them from going back. For others, it can be the form factor of the device -- it has to look and feel roughly like a cigarette for it to work for them. Still others value specific flavours, like tobacco blends. Different people most value different aspects of smoking and vaping, but it is the presence of that highest priority aspect that keeps them going. Vapor may seem like a purely cosmetic feature of vaping with little practical value, but for some, it's critical that this visual stimulus be present and copious.

Whenever I'm talking to someone about what device and juice is right for them, I always ask, "what aspect of smoking do you think most attracts you to it?" It's not a question smokers have ever had to ask themselves, but it's an important one to consider, because it's one of the key points that will determine what devices and juices will satisfy.

As an experiment I have vaped. Pure VG and pure PG with no flavorings or nic.

VG produced a cloud of vapor with no TH.

PG produced only enough vapor to fill my mouth. If I enhaled it and then blew out there was nothing there. TH non existant.

After trying various combination of flavorings vg pg and nicotine I am convinced that most TH comes from the nic and flavoring. Some flavoring produce more TH some less. I am also convinced that PG does not mellow out the TH from the nic or flavoring but VG does.

So it's not that PG provides TH it's that it doesn't mellow it out like VG does. Furthermore, different nicotines from different suppliers have differnt levels of TH. I have purchased nic from 4 different suppliers and each one had a different level of TH all other things being equal.

It's simply a balancing act between what kind of nic you get, what flavors you use, and the percentage of VG to PG. TH can be increased with other additives, but I have never found the need to use them.

I have been doing DIY for over two years. So although I am not an expert I do have a lot of experience and I took a somewhat scientific approach to the question.
