Just as a side note - For my mod I was able to pop the threaded end right out of the casing (it was loose anyway which is why the battery broke in the first place). I soldered both new wires to the points where the old wires HAD been (inside of the cap and case. No need to solder to the outer case in that respect.

I was planning on doing that also, but my connector wouldn't come off and I didn't want to damage the threads trying to force it.

Nice one Bastage, spent this afternoon playing about, had a real problem getting the solder to adhere to the outer casing, though got there in the end.

Nice job! That's a big ole switch too! Yes, getting the ground wire firmly in place is the biggest headache of doing the mod. What I've found easiest is drilling a small hole near the end of the casing and looping the wire through, then soldering it.

Figured I'd send you mine before I put the switch on. :p

This is the Solder FREE version.

I sripped the black wire WAY back and loosly wrapped the strands in diffrent directions around the rubber cable so it touches the inside casing at multiple spots. I then trimmed the red wire at tip so it bends at a 90degree on top. I wrapped the cable in velcro wire ties and rammed it home... I screwed the vaporizer in place to set the red wire at tip.

I need to plug/unplug to make it work right now.

BTW, I'm getting to where I dont even want to use batteries even for short term use. They just die too dang fast. I'll be posting up a VERY simple mod soon that uses 4x3000Mah rechargeable batteries that you can hook your atomizer directly to via a switch and cable, or you'll have the option of putting a USB connector on it to power a USB modded battery casing. Should last about 25x longer than a standard ecig battery, maybe more because they aren't being overworked. I think the standard batteries are rated very low capacity. I haven't done the mod yet but I dont think it will be a problem at all. The reason I want to do it is if I'm sitting in the living room and the laptop isnt' in there, I won't need to sit close to a wall jack to use my USB 901. Once I get the battery mod done I'll post it up for others to try.

might want to solder those connections, it'll last longer that way.

Your correct of course,
I'm feeling lucky that the ground wire is branching off in enough directions to have multiple contacts inside the casing. I'm just guessing though because I cant see it, I only know that it's working. The fear is if there isnt enough strands touching, all that current passing through only 1-2 strands of steel can build up heat and melt the contacts.

I plan on using This Paintball and Airsoft Laser Pressure Switch

They can be had on amazon for about $3. There Waterproof and have a nice feel.

Cool! I tried 4 1000 mah batteries, it worked tremendously well. But I never got around for a suitable test because I hooked it up to a Dc 4.5 V 600 Mah
Adapter (just one of those square adapters I had laying around)

The e-cig worked like perfection. But also now I have switched to using my left over atomizers from my dse103 and using the atomizer tube of a dse108
(yes I ripped out the atomizer from the tube.. was a pretty bad idea I thought, but then I had a brainstorm and thought hmm, maybe if I roll some paper around the dse103 it will fit in the tube, so it did fit using the same adapter works like 20 percent better than the original dse801 atomizer that was in it..

Don't know why. maybe because of the extra voltage from the adaptor in the small dse103 atomizer, must be it.

Bastage- Check this out they were on closeout at walmart last month
Very Cheap (Like $7 and $11 for the battery and charger)

I got 2 -

THE VPX SYSTEM by BLACK & DECKER - Lithium-Ion Power - Ready When You Need It

It says the output is rated at 350mah on the usb BUT it may work

Li-Ion Cell

Maybe able to just hack it more power output.

Still waiting for a battery to die to start -"burning solder"

Thanks for the info Bastage - I'm looking to mod my 2 901b's since neither deliver much of a hit. Having eliminated liquid/carts as a problem I think a more powerful power source could be the answer - though other problems are also possible.

I'll be getting out my soldering iron when you post this next mod of yours.
