Hey Sloth, worked in video for most of my career and editing was a large part of my job, your video today did not require any edits, you should have a reason for cutting or editing your video, cut aways, beauty shots and yes occasionally fixing a mistake. I watch golf vids from a guy on YouTube and he does most without any edits, the information he in conveying is what's important to me.

I love your idea about a regulated Reo that could be used as a mech, and perhaps could be updated easily with a new chip set, don't know if that is the right term.

vaping to me is not so much a hobby as it is a way to keep myself from smoking, Nov 2017 was my 4 yr anniversary. Reps have played a large part in that effort.

I don't chime in as much as I might but I always check into the forum to see what's happening. I also think Eric is doing a great job, my only concern is we don't see many new Reonauts joining on the forum. I believe that should be job 1. Perhaps a regulated Reo might help bring in new blood.

Awesome video, sloth. Honest, heartfelt, respectful.

The REO is the most visceral mod I've ever owned - the VW beetle of vaping in terms of it's emotional connection with its owners. How many mods (I think you and I own examples of them all) engender such loyalty and inspire people like you to make a video like this? Not sure how many fingers sloths have, but I bet you can count them on one hand.

As for editing style, I think anything you could do has an application. This was essentially a testimonial PSA. Edits would have undermined the "from the heart"edness of the piece. Much of your other work benefited from the energy and tone that jump cuts elicit. You're a musician - you know that there is no one single way to compose/play a song. I think that an eclectic editing style actually fits your channel, so choose what feels right to you as the creator with the vision for each piece.

Again, great video, brother.

Another analogy: REOs are the Harley Davidsons of the squonk world. They are the granddaddy, the owners who have been around for a while still use them, and are passionate about them.

Thanks for the awesome feedback my friend. Side note, and I may have already told you, but Chrissy and I are heading your way in the Fall. We're going to fly into Vancouver most likely, rent a car and explore the surrounding areas. We may also head over to Alberta.

We should have a vape :thumb:

It’s kinda sad that squonking has just started getting popular in the last year or so, when those of us Reonauts who have been around for a while have been telling people about the virtues of squonking for years. But along with squonking’s new found popularity, have come an endless number of ‘soulless’ 3D printed boxes.

Bravo @Sloth Tonight! What a well done and heart-felt video! I very rarely watch videos on-line but when I do, it is one of yours. Well done! You are such a dear soul and talented too.

Thank you for expressing your devotion to Reos and our Forum. When I found Reos and our Forum back in 2013, I knew I was Home. One tough mod and one generous, helpful and smart family! I haven’t felt a need to move away but respect those who check out other goodies and stay in touch with their roots. We need us all.

I too don’t know how viable it is to combine a mech and non-mech mod but if Reos did it, I would buy it for sure!

Great video bro, @Sloth Tonight. So glad to see a Reo will be apart of you forever. Very glad to see Eric take up Reo's, and continue the legacy of such a fine product. Love the website as well. Wouldn't mind seeing more pictures of the Grand users from this forum that have taken throughout the years in the photo galary.

You mention a lot of great points of using a REO Grand, and highlight points of the future as well. If Eric were to ever incorporate a chip in the Reo, I too hope he keeps the traditional mech side of it. I still have a link to the video of Super-X punishing that one REO to illustrate endurance. Reo's dependability is the core foundation of existence. They just don't fail, and if by chance they do, you can rest assured that it can be fixed. It's NOT a permanent failure like so many other devices are. I guess that's why I just haven't looked elsewhere, or tried other stuff on the market. Heck, I'm still living in the caveman days of single coils. LoL. Still have many RM2's, and use the RM3 for my daily vape for Christ sake! The 14mm delivers a kick arsse vape for MTL vaping. :thumb: You guys have a good weekend. I start the long weekend shift soon, and of course... my Reo Grand (Han Solo) is going to be with me the whole time. :2cool:

@Sloth Tonight ... I'm just wondering how many Sloth handles there could be, or do you just keep reinventing yourself o_O Cause this whole hat theme seems familiar.
Let's see, first it was fairtradesloth, then emotional support sloth, then maybe it was emotional stability sloth, then rayonati sloth, and now sloth tonight.

Yep, I'm a whacko :D

Nice Video,
My everyday device for the past 2 1/2 to 3 years has been a reo grand. For work I am often away from home, I don't want to be carrying a spare/backup around.I have steered clear of the regulated squonk devices as I don't want to be away from home and have a device fail on me. ( I have never needed a backup since I started using the reo :))

Perhaps a modular design would work, so you could have a side panel that unscrews with either a chip set like the DNA or a mechanical switch?

If you think about it there would only need to be three connections for the side panel, ground, battery voltage in and voltage out to the centre pin of the 510.

Another advantage of this would be that when the new all singing and dancing DNA85Z or whatever is released you could just buy the appropriately modified side panel to upgrade the mod.

The forum is quiet compared to how it used to be, many people have moved on. I suspect Eric will need to bring out a new mod to spark some interest. Its a long time since the P67 was released.
