Virgin Vapor Chocolate Cake

I ordered some juices from Virgin Vapor, and to be quite honest I'm not liking the the first one I tried, at all.

A sample of Chocolate Cake. It arrived about a week and a half ago. I opened the bottle and smelled it. It smelled strange. It was a strong, piercing aroma which I can't quite describe. The smell reminded me somewhat of strong liquor, with something bitter in it.

After letting it steep a week and a half, I opened it and smelled it again. Same smell. But I said what the hell, I'll throw it in, and I did. Results: not good. It tastes nothing like chocolate to me, it just tastes bitter. I threw it in the trash immediately. I just pulled it out now, a few hours later, to smell it again and yup, eeew. This to me is actually un-vapable. This must have been a bad batch, or maybe this needs serious steep time.

Just wanted to vent, I was upset and dissapointed because I thought I'd like this flavor.

I also have some Caramel Creme, and Kona Coffee milkshake steeping. Hope those are better.

I bought two bottles of Virgin Vapor juices in late October, 2011: Organic Kona Coffee Milkshake and Chocolate Cake. The Kona was terrific right out of the mail. I'm on my second bottle now. The Chocolate Cake was initially dreadful, not like chocolate at all. Three months of aging (steeping) have improved it, to the point where it is now passable. Not great, not even good, but passable. After two months, I thought it was headed toward good. That thought turned out to be wishful thinking.

Chocolate is almost impossible to get right as a vaping flavor, except when used in a blend as a background flavor, with subtlety and restraint, as it is in CopperCreek House Blend and Prime Vaping Nostalgia. As the central or dominant flavor, however, it's almost always disappointing.
