I have a few more samples of Virgin Vapors so I may tack on a few more in the next couple of days.
Virgin Vapors is an Organic line, which is pretty cool considering there's still popular vendors who are still being mentioned
in relation to whether or not their flavorings are diacetyl-free, or if there's other questionable things in their eliquid.
Taken from website:
"Our ingredients are simple: nicotine, organic vegetable glycerin, distilled water and certified organic flavors. Some of our organic flavors come in an organic ethyl alcohol base. "
I bought one mL samples from ELiquidSamples.com in July for around $1.59 each. High price per mL but good when you're sick of buying 3-10mL sample
bottles and thinking they're gross. Normally, I love ELS, but I'm not sure if VV translates well in this business format because sometimes, depending
on the flavor, you have to open the bottle and let it air out a bit-- to let the ethyl alcohol evaporate--if it can-- some people have mentioned they
can still taste it after following this advice. ELS sends small 1mL glass tubes-- so it would be hard to open and air them out, close them up, shake, and
repeat the process.
They've got a really great line-up reviewed by Spinfuel, and even though none of the ones I tested are winners, I'm still open to trying the remainder
ones and perhaps buying a small sample bottle from VV directly so as to air it out and try it.
These were all tested on a Zmax with a dual-coal cotton wick. They are all 50/50 PG/VG, 12mg.
Dark Side of the Moon:
My impression was that they were going for something chocolate, but mostly I got a slightly raisin taste and chalkiness. My boyfriend tried this a couple
of times and his impression was a cross between a RY4 and a Virginia cured tobacco. He refused to vape this after a few times, and I switched this out
quickly.
Snake Bite:
I didn't initially like this one. It doesn't have a lot of taste on the intake, but then when I'm exhaling there's a bit of citrus and berry flavor on the lips and
in the vapor being exhaled. I vaped this one for fifteen or so minutes trying to get a handle on it. On the one hand, it tasted kind of like a cheap household
cleaner but it still managed to be subtle. It seemed to morph into a floral soap, and I know we all use the words "perfumey" or "soapy" as a bad thing, but
honestly-- if you love the smell of a pretty soap, this is actually pretty pleasant. Then it seemed to stay subtle and go into the flower area which was kind
of pleasant. I wouldn't buy this, but I found it kind of pleasurable when it got to this stage of my tongue trying to categorize it. I like rose water in my
iced teas occasionally, so having a flower taste that isn't perfumey isn't outside my ken, and this sort of relates to that though it does not taste like
rose water.
Boyfriend was not a fan. I made him vape it for ten or fifteen minutes to see if it would morph for him, but all he said was lemon pledge and the like.
Best Damn tobacco:
I'm not a tobacco vaper since I've never smoked and gotten hooked on cigarettes. I rarely will smoke a cigar or a cigarillo but the best thing about tobaccos
for me are how they smell unlit, or in this case un-vaped. I took a puff on this and got, in quick succession: cologne...and leather
Which isn't actually a turn-off. I found it entertaining that instead of getting Perfume, I got cologne. I like the smell of cologne and it's not like it tasted BAD.
The leather part was pretty interesting because I remember as a kid chewing on a piece of leather. I like that part too. I might keep on the look out for a nice
leather vape liquid, but as it is, this one wasn't for me. I think this one would have been best suited to have air out to kill some of that alcohol (which was likely
what was effecting the cologne taste/smell for me.)
Boyfriend's impression was that it was a RY4. It wasn't unvapeable, but he doesn't lean in that direction and so this won't be a buy for us.
I should say that vapor wasn't really an issue for us-- I noticed some vapor production but it wasn't insane, and I don't think you can get a LOT of vapor from VV's
line, which tends to be a common complaint. Snake Bite was the relative favorite for me and Best Damn Tobacco was the relative favorite for him. I didn't tell him
what the flavors were supposed to be, nor did I tell him it was organic. If I did, I don't think he'd have a very good impression.
