Hi all, recently received a CE4 Clearomizer and I'm not too happy with it to be honest. I'm getting O.K vapor from it, but only a hint of flavor and a lot of dry hits unless the tank is totally full and the top of the wicks submerged in eliquid. Can I fix this or is this a flaw with the CE4s in general not being that great?

I'm using it on a standard 900MAh eGo battery.

Thanks,

What kind of juice are you using? 100% VG is notoriously bad in these types of clearos.

Your vaping position matters too. Try holding it near horizontal while vaping.

One last thing to keep in mind - just in case you took 3-4 drags and posted this: sometimes clearos have a bit of a breaking in period where it will taste harsh, or have little taste.

The CE4s (aka Stardust) clearos come in a variety of resistances (Ohms), so maybe the resistance isn't compatible with your eGo battery. Also, eGo batteries that aren't the Twist variety (variable voltage) also come in a regulated 3.3v version (Joyetech), and non-regulated version which can provide anywhere from 4.1v fully charged to about 3.4v depleted.

Finally, as has already been said, the CE4 was not the best clearo design when it came to flavor production. There are better options now, such as the Vision ViVi Nova (and mini), Kanger T2, and Kanger T3 (bottom coil) just to name a few.

I'm using liberty-flights.co.uk PG e-liquid. Just checked my hold position, seems near horizontal and still the problems. Also, if I let it get about half way down it gets even worse so at this point I top it back up to full. Done this twice now, not sure if this is long enough for the CE4 to break in.

I have CE4 with med wicks , CE5+ with no wicks and Kanger T2 .

CE4 is worst of them , CE5 is quite good (but sadly i have 2.7ohm version :( ) and T2 is the best.

I think this CE4 is a high ohm version too, maybe why I'm getting low flavour on my batt? Might buy a vivi nova or kanger t3.

I'm using a standard battery, I don't have a tankometer or anything to test the voltage so i'm guessing at 3.5V ish? If I have a 2.8ohm coil in here then this may be why im getting little flavor when it actually wicks, then the bad design is causing the dry hits?

I'm debating between a vivi nova mini or a t3 now I think. I may even just drip with a bridgeless at home...

t2 is topcoil, and t3 is bottom coil, better is subjective, many people seem to like the 3.
i havent gotten around to trying them as i only have the 2 and since i dont really use clearos much anymore the few i have for backup are lasting a long time.
only thing i can tell you is 2 is short wick and needs to be tilted a lot, and sometimes the 3 can flood depending on the juice. im sure others will chime in with more info.
