OK so I finally have time to post all of my questions that I have had since I got my visions....

1. The biggest question... one of my vision deuxs (the LED version) vaped great for a short time, then developed a very bad taste. It took me a while to place the taste, but it seems electrical, like a burning wire or something. Is this possible, maybe even specific to the deuxs? Could it be something else? Could cleaning it possible help? Has anyone else had this happen? I tried leaving it alone for a day, then tried it again. One or two good vapes then same nasty taste.

2. How do you clean these things anyway? Same as the other attys and cartos? And how often?

3. Does it matter how the slits line up on the top cap?

I thought I had more questions than that, but I can't recall them now. Maybe I figured some out on my own. :D

Hi, Tidegirl,

Yes, it matters how the slits line up, and if they are not aligned properly you will not get juice to the coil - which is probably why you are getting the burnt metallic taste. It's the infamous "dry hits".

The notches (small slits) should be right over the wick openings in the cup and thus over the wicks. The large openings in the top cap (cup seal) end up at 90 degrees to the wicks - they are for filling the carto.

Clean them as you would clean any CE2s.

Since you have gotten burnt taste, take off the cup seal and look at its bottom side. You might see a burnt patch which won't come off even if you wash it. Just take an exacto knife or something and trim it up a little, so it's not so close to the coil.

Well, it was lined up correctly, and I don't see any burnt spots anywhere. I have cleaned it and will see if it improves after it dries.

You can also lift the cup seal a tad, and see if that helps. If you are getting dry hits, cleaning alone is unlikely to help. Possible, but not likely, unless the wicks were really, really crudded.

Now that I think of it though, you are using the LED version... I am vaping one right now as well, and I noticed a faint metallic taste. It may be that there is leftover solder matter in these, since there are extra wires, I suppose. Not sure on that one. I never had that particular aftertaste on a regular Visions. But of that's the case, cleaning should definitely help.

Tell what happens - I'm curious. :)

no solder. the LED wires just wrap around. positive wraps around the center post and the neg just lays in the oring grove. in fact if you pull the tube off you'll find the led is loose and just sititing in there. not sure what could cause the taste - i wonder if the LED and whatnot were cleaned before it was put together as there could be manufacturing residue on the LED perhaps idk.
just bought 2 of the LED mini cuz i wanted the size but i haven't played with them yet.

Yeah... Hmmm... We could guess, I suppose, but the truth is that I was disappointed with these. I was expecting the same great taste as with a "regular Regular", and both of mine got this slightly funky taste. I did rinse them. I'll try dry burning.
