I just bought a Vision Spinner kit,,,,,,,and although I love it, I'm not sure this is normal,,,

Every time I dial up the voltage to more than 4.0, the button gets really REALLY hot. Not warm,,,,,,,,,,HOT. This happens on both Spinners, though, so maybe it's normal???

I'm using them with EVOD bcc clearomizers.

Any info you could give would be helpful, thanks!

You don't say how much above 4.0 V you're using but I'll assume any voltage above 4 V does this, even say 4.1-4.3V. I don't have the 1300 but I do have a VV Spinner and that doesn't happen with mine. I just power vaped it with a 1.5 ohm cisco 306 at 4.6 Volts - that's 14 Watts (I don't recommend that, btw :- ) and the metal band around the button got a bit hot but not the button so much. I suppose if I went a bit longer it might get hot to the touch.

And although the evod does have a 1.5ohm coil available, I'm guessing you're using something higher in ohms - either the 1.8, 2.2 or 2.4 and all the kanger bcc's actually run about +0.2ohms higher than what they're marked.... So..... either the coil has been reduced to below the 1.5 ohm level via gunk, etc. or there's a problem with the batt.

Since you just got it, I'd contact the vendor to see about a return, after checking the coil out for low ohms via multimeter or ohm meter. Or trying a brand new coil and seeing if you get the same result.

And happy almost anniversary on ecf!

I have no idea what ohms head comes in this EVOD, but I did buy some 1.8 ohms heads to replace them. I know better than to go way too high on the volts with low ohms, so it's possible I have a 1.8 ohms in there,,,,,,assuming it is a 1.8ohms head in there, I don't suppose I should go much higher than 3.6 anyway,,,,,,,

It is indeed, brand new, vaping it only for minutes when this happened,,,,,,but I'm going to try a new head and see what happens.

And thanks for the anniversary wishes :) 1 year tomorrow since I quit smoking :) I never thought it would be so easy :)

hum,,,,,,,

well, I changed to a 1.8 ohm head,,,,,,,,I can go right up to 3.8 without getting hot (don't want to go any higher than that with 1.8) and it tastes a million times better too,,,,,,,,,,so I don't know what I had in there,,,,,,,maybe I damaged it when I went over 4.0,,,,,,who knows,,,,, but thanks for your help :)

Chances are the coil you were using was below 1.5ohms - that can happen - sometimes a near short or stuff gets on the coil area that reduces the resistance. It can also go high too.

One of these:

Cartomizer and Atomizer Ohm Meter

.... is really nice to have (when they're in stock ;- )

I use a vodka bath for coil units that are beginning to get a tight draw or where I'm not getting the power and test it on the meter.... then clean it.

I have a Vision Spinner 1300mah. I use a SS Liquinator tank and Boge 3ohm SR Cartos on it and my sweet spot with most of my juices is around the 4.3 - 4.6v. It gets a touch warm but nothing crazy. Love it! When I try it with my evod it definitely gets hotter. Not really hot, but I notice the difference so I turn my voltage down to around 3.8 - 4v.

I just bought a 1300mah spinner and am using pretty much the same set-up as you, an EVOD with a 1.8 coil at 4.1-4.2 and have NEVER had any heat issue at all. Might be a bad battery, not sure.
