Vision Spinner Problems

Hi everybody!!
so this is my first time on here,

ok, so about a month or two ago, I ordered the vision spinner, it worked really well for about a month and then all of a sudden it just shut down, the light just wouldn't turn on, so I put it to charge, and as I put it to charge it lit up and flashed 3 times and then paused for a second or two then flashed about 15- 20 times the light on the charger flashes from red to green as usual as if it was charging, but off the charger it wouldn't light up.

I looked online to find out what was going on but couldn't find much, so I figured it was dead, so I ordered another vision spinner, (I've had them hooked up to the kanger protank 2) I just got the new vision spinner in the mail, put it to charge, and it seemed to work perfectly, plugged it in to my computer, light on the the charger flashing red to green, and the light on the battery staying lit, I left, let it charge, and come back and the light on the batterys off, and it was doing the same thing as the other one, flashing 3 times, then 15-20 times, and wont light up off the charger. luckily, a friend let me borrow his battery which is a eCG (??) -haven't heard of it- and its working fine, but the two vision spinners wont work.

Don't know what to do, im thinking if those vision spinners are dead then they wouldn't light up at all right? should I return the one I just got? or maybe they still work, and i'm just doing something wrong. I don't know that much about vaping, just started a couple months ago.

I was thinking maybe it's the charger that did that to both of them, but I doubt it because I've have three different chargers, or maybe it's because I have it hooked up to my computer?

Honestly,my experience with vision spinners has been pretty bad ( or maybe its just me) , so maybe I should go with another brand, if so, any recommendations on which brand I should go with??
anyway, i'd really appreciate any advice, tips , or thoughts...
THANKS :)

I have had no problems with mine in the month I have had it other than airflow problems on my protank 2 mini. Your charger sounds different than mine, are you saying your charger light is green while it is charging? My vision spinner flashes 3 times when screwed in to charge and the charger light is red until it is fully charged then it turns green. I have never seen my button light flash 15-20 times.

I think the problem might be using your computer to charge them. I charge mine in a wall charger. I think I've seen other people here who have had problems when they tried to use their computer to charge their spinners. Can you get hold of an adapter, so you can plug it into a wall outlet and charge them that way? It might be worth a try.

Sorry for your troubles. They really should be working since they are still new. Are they authentic Spinners, or maybe they are a knock-off version? I think sometimes people have had trouble with them when they turned out to be "fake" spinners.

Oh, and welcome to the forum, by the way. We are happy to have you join us.:)

I had no problem charging mine off the wiki or the computer. Maybe they changed this?

IMO you should never charge using a USB port. Better & safer charge using a wall outlet. I realize that some of the batteries come only with a USB, but if you search you can find an adapter for your USB. Good luck & VAPE ON:vapor:

Well the only real problem with using USB port on the computer is, it'll charge slower. If you got USB 3.0 on your computer it'll charge decently. But with the lower versions it's slower due they can't output as much as it requires (I believe this is the case, i could be wrong)

All i know is USB 3.0 works decently while the other less so.

Mine behaves this way also. However airhole problems with pt2 mini? How's that possible when you screw a base ontop of it? Maybe you're over tightening the atty? Or the airholes are poorly made?

I'm using that combo without problems, hence my questions :)

We just discussed a similar issue in another thread:

No It does not.

The charger has to turn red--if it doesn't, it's not charging. You may want to unplug the charger and plug it back in--it reboots the charger if it's stuck, :D Also, make sure that your charger threads are clean--use a q-tip or an old toothbrush dipped in 91% Isopropyl alcohol. Don't overtighten your your battery--if you screw it on too tightly, you may push the center pin into the battery and it won't make proper electrical contact. If your battery's pin has been pushed in, you may try to--very gently--try to raise it a hair. Use a tiny screwdriver or a paper clip to wiggle it up, from all sides, just a little bit.

Are you using a wall adapter or your computer's USB port. Sometimes those USB ports are finicky. I always use a wall adapter with my eGo chargers. You can use a Joyetech or a generic wall adapter:

I use a generic adapter with following specs:

Input: Dc 5v, 500 mA
Output: DC 4.2v, 420 mA

good info ... nice to be in a place where theres people helping each other and not bashing on the setup a user has because its not a $200 mod

Not too many of us started with $200 mods :)

And if you can't get through the initial fiddlyness (new word, spell checker doesn't like!) to the point where you really enjoy vaping a LOT more than smoking, you may never get that mod!

Hard for someone starting this journey to justify spending that amount of money on something that they may not get into. So helping others to learn the ins and outs to a good vape - no matter what the hardware - helps us all. And while I personally have several mods, I also have and use Spinners. I find one of those on a lanyard is ideal (for me) while driving. Need two hands? Drop it, it won't go far :) Lose it? I won't cry. Much. :)

And another few months, you'll be here helping others as well :toast:
