I'm still new to this and am wondering what makes the viva nova different than all the other crappy cartomizers on the market? All the cartomizers I've tried haven't compared to atomizers at all.
It doesn't use polyfill like cartos. Holds more juice. Has a tank. Still doesn't compare to a good atomizer. But its not bad for an easy fill and go solution. Only thing that does compare with a good attie is a genesis mod.
Or maybe a good rebuildabale silica mod (EG penelope) but i have yet to try them so I cant say.
vivi nova = not a cartomizer so going to last longer and you can replace the wick heads after a bit so the 'tank' itself can be used over and over
whereas a carto will eventually die and will need to toss it out (some people boil them or clean with hot water and sometimes can get a month out of them.. but normally its about a week before they need to be replaced)
if you are looking for a better clearo try the iclear30 compared to vivi to see which you like better.. personally i no longer use the vivi's after switching to the iclear's

Thanks for the tips! I am going to look into what exactly the silica mod is but just haven't had time yet. If it doesn't use polyfill, what does it use?

The iclear looks interesting, I may have to try that. Has anyone tried it? How'd you like it?
I hadn't yet heard of the genesis...it looks awesome! It's a little maintenance but if it works as well as advertised, that's A-ok. How often do you typically have to rebuild the wick and recoil? How many tanks do you usually get out of one wicking?

It uses a coil and wick, the wick runs through the coil and into the tank. Very simple setup and the heads that house the coil and wick can either be replaced or rebuilt when needed.
There's quite a few of these type tanks now although the VIVI Nova was one of if not the first popular one. Others I'd recommend looking at are the Kanger T3, Evod and Protank.

So I'm seriously looking into the genesis mod but have read reports that it leaks pretty bad if it doesn't stay upright. Can anyone confirm/deny this about the genesis?
Genesis attys are awesome for performance but they aren't without quirks as with most anything out. They have a rather high learning curve and are apt to leaking if not left standing up, I use mine mostly at home and usually something else on the go.
