Viva Nova(s)

My first VN worked great but would leak a little time to time. I liked it enough to get a second from a different vendor. Both came in a standard VN gift box so I am pretty sure both are genuine.

1st one had plastic tip, airholes in battery connector, and top seal that looked like a piece of tubing.
2nd one differences, metal tip(stays cold and taste like....metal) airholes in metal tank base, spring loaded center pin, better etching marks on the tank. top seal has a top with small hole. There might be a difference in the heads but I havent compared side to side yet. Been too busy vaping.

Performance- had to ditch the metal tip due to the taste. Not sure what its made from but I wont use it again. The center pin makes contact positive with every battery I have. The top seal with the small hole seals much better, I have yet to get leaks. Oh about leaks. When I primed the second one(a little too much) instead of getting into the battery like the first one would do, it came out the airholes on the base away from the battery. A little messier for me but nicer for the battery. On the first one juice could actually isolate the head and prevent firing until cleaned out.

Overall I like the second one better. So the question is, which one is the newer version?

1st one was a vivi nova version 2, the next is a vivi nova version 2.5
(I think) you can tell by the placement of the air hole and the length of the wicks.
Version 2 usually comes with short wicks. version 3 comes with longer wicks.

None of my VN's have the features you describe nor have I seen descriptions that include those features.
It sounds a bit like the new Vivi Nova Double Stack but that's a completely different animal - Spring Vapor.

The wicks are long on both of mine. After reading another posters same question, it is even more confusing because he claims to have the same top seal as I have on the second one but with airholes I have on the second one. His second one seems to have a cone for the top seal. Perhaps the manufacturer is mixing parts to deplete stock of old parts?

yes. same thing happened to me with the wicks. I got version 1 wicks with my version 2.
sounds pretty commonplace.
