I'm about to pick up some new attys, was wondering if anybody had an opinion on using Everclear as opposed to just regular 80proof Vodka on the old ones I have now? They still work, but are in need of a "deep cleaning".

I can get Everclear (196proof) at a local grocery store ($16.99 for 750ml) and was wondering if having too high an alc percentage would be detrimental to atty life.

Planning on getting the everclear anyway, even if I need to cut it down with distilled it's still cheaper than buying the same amount of vodka (more or less).

Wanted to soak these (overnight)? Not quite ready for the ultrasonic cleaners just yet, soon though! :)

I use 100proof vodka cuz they don't sell everclear here. I use baby snot sucker with hot water to rinse my atty then soak overnight with vodka, rinse again with hot water then gently jam some paper towel in atty let dry for a day. Some use rice to dry atty I just too lazy to get my rice out. Paper towel closer to me. My atty # is growing. I have right now 6 working attys, 3 for djarum black/unflavored , 3 for ry4. Also got 3 unused attys. All are 1.5 ohm cisco 510 atty except 2 they 1.8 cisco. Also got 2 306 cisco and cpl magma atty just sitting there being neglected cuz 1.5 is just awesome. I also mix with my vodka. 5%vodka 5% distilled 20%flav 20%vg nic 50% vg. I use 100mg vg nic. so i get 20mg nic juice.

Sounds like you'd use everclear if you could get your hands on it, so YAY! I'm good on that front. You're the 2nd person I've seen mention the rice, that's interesting. I like the paper towel approach better myself. :)

That VG mix is something else. I realize with non-PG juices you'd need a little distilled to make it flow better, does it cause problems with making it hard to produce (vapor)? Ever tried it w/o the water (I'm just curious). I love VG for the vapor, and I'd like to try more of it, but I know it's harder on the attys, which is the main reason I'm picking up more new myself, figured these oldies are my new testers!

Thanks for the info!

Everclear is fine, the alc is what is doing the work, more proof more power, both do the same, one is just faster.

As far as the rice method, its best for a big pile of atomizers to dry. you just toss em in to a jar with the rice for a while(at least a day) and it will dry them good.( its like using a desiccant, the rice soaks up all the moisture) then just shake out any rice inside, prime and vape

Yeah I done mixes with no water before. Actually I only started using water on my last batch. Kinda messed up on it. 10% distilled makes it drip like water. Luckily I got a cpl 6 ml bottles that I vaped half way so I mixed it and perfect. On my other batches they were all the same ratios but insted of 5% vodka, i use 10%. It is hard on the atty but I pretty sure my djarum black flavoring is the culprit. ry4 vg, non flav vg they don't mess with my atty that fast. But I am getting the hang of it. I notice If I stop using atty when it shows signs of getting tight and do deep clean, it goes back to normal usually every 2-3 days. Which is way I got a growing # of atty collection. IT only does it with the 1.5 and 1.8 cisco 510. Standard rez atty are fine with it but it doesn't satisfy me consistently. Lol vaping can be such a pita. If only I can get used to other juices that is not hard on atty I wouldn't have this problem. But I love my clove so I will just keep at it. Cheaper than reg cigs thats for sure.

I'd be concerned with getting that smell off the bridges, but maybe I'm thinking more of cartos and all of that filler to worry about.

Vinegar rinses clean and leaves no taste in an atty or E2 style carto. Reduces the need for dry burning to next to nothing.

Now for a filler carto, I wouldn't suggest it.

Sounds like something I'd be willing to try, especially with these "baked on, caked on" attys, have nothing to lose!

Do you soak for a time, then rinse (repeat?). Then let dry?

I've attached atties to a ego battery, then turn it over and dip the atty into the PGA (Everclear) while firing the button. PGA boils hella fast, so in essence, you're boiling the crud off the atty coil. I then pull the atty off the battery, blow it out after wiping of with a paper towel, recomnnect and dry fire til the coil glows orange. Atty is like new after that.

That's a great price on PGA! I'm shelling out ~$10 for a 375ml bottle!!

Vinegar is fantastic for all kinds of things. Works great for baked crud in your oven or on your BBQ grille. Removes rust without pitting metal. Disolves hard water build ups. The list goes on and on.

I rinse an atty or E2 style carto in hot water first. Flick dry. Soak in Vinegar for about and hour or so. Rinse and flick dry again.

If I'm not going to use the atty/carto right away, I like to dry them out else I just give it a drop on the bridge/wick and start vaping.

Vinegar where I live costs about 4 bucks a gallon. Heck of a lot cheaper than Vodka and one Hell of a lot cheaper than PGA.
