Volcano Inferno with BCT Tube Tank Leaking constantly into the tip

I just purchased this upgrade to my old ecig, and it's proving very frustrating. I've seen some other posts here about it, but nothing seems to quite work.

The ecig granddaddy

I'm fairly confident I'm using the device correctly, and I'm a chemical engineer, so I'm fairly sure I've got the gaskets seated properly and everything... but with high frequency (multiple times a day), the device leaks several full drops of ejuice into the tube from the heater to the tip, so I end up pulling up liquid.

In order to recover the device, I have to remove the tip and clear out the liquid that has accumulated there. Then I have to remove the battery from the BTC Tank and clear out all the liquid that has accumulated *there*, wasting a fair bit of liquid. Multiple times a day.

I've tried using a q-tip to carefully clean the o-ring seals. I tried reseating the heater element and checked those gaskets. I made sure that the gasket between the internal metal tube and the heating element was clean and tight. I've even made sure that the device is always upright with the tip up (which seems to help a little). But it's still happening with so much regularity that it's extremely frustrating.

Am I the only one with this kind of issue? It's a brand new tube tank, brand new battery, and it does the same with two different batteries. Has anyone figured out what's going on?

I'm using Johnson Creek Red Oak ejuice, so it's 100% vegetable glycerine. As far as I can see from the ingredients, the most aggressive solvent in it is citric acid, which really shouldn't impact the device. Is it a viscosity issue where the fluid is too easily wicking into the heater and dripping into the tip? I'm at a loss here.

This happened with my husbands when we got it. He was tightening the head assembly too tight to the tank(Pressed doen on the clear oring thing). Mine has never leaked. They have a knowledge base over on the website and customer service was great help! Don't give up! Once we figured everything out we ended up loving them so much we bought a back up set for each of us:)

Maybe there are other options out there.

Not everything is good in the ecig world.

Seriously, I love mine! We even bought an extra set for each of us! I think the OP just needs to call customer service.. My hubs had a leak at the battery and they helped us tremendously and even got us new coils. Seriously, call CS. Still happily vaping on mine. Hubs is now happily vaping on his.

Thanks, I did and they suggested that I make sure I'm not covering the holes for air inlet (which I guess might produce suction into the liquid), and that I release the button and keep inhaling for some time to make sure there's no vapor to condense in the tube. It seems to sort of help, I'll see how it goes.

Keep with it.. I love their CS. Really friendly and super quick. And yeah I keep inhaling after I let go. I read that on the forums before they closed. It keeps condensation from building up. I didn't even think of the air holes:facepalm: The big thing we found is to not tighten past finger tight. That seems to have helped make the leaking on the battery go away.

It happens to mine all the time as well. Seems to be way too much maintenance for how much it cost. Every time it does that the only sure fire way to solve it was to clean and dry everything. Had to do that a couple times a day.I also had to make sure to keep it above half full or it started to leak

But this is just my experience. Seems to be different for different people. I bought a couple 5 dollar evods and havent had half the problems with em ive had with the bct tank.

I've been following their advice about making sure not to cover up the air holes, and to inhale a bit after releasing the battery button to clear the chamber, but it's still a problem. Very frustrating. I've got the clearing part down though, if you remove just the tip part you can flick out all the liquid in the central tube. Stupid solution, and it wastes a ton of juice, but seems to work.

Sigh.
