voltages

i have standard 510 batts and a 650mah standard ego bat and i noticed that the standard 510 was putting out a whole lot more vapor so i got out my digital multi-meter and checked tho voltages

each batt was fully charged and the voltages where thus

standard 510 ~3.89V
650mah ego ~3.4V

i was under the impression that both where supposed to be about 3.2V and would decline in voltage at different rates but my findings just didn't seem right

can anyone clear this up? is this normal at all? do i have wonky batteries? am i measuring wrong? (which i'm almost completely sure i'm not, what kind of idiot cant read a multi-meter)

This is correct what you found, I do believe there may be some knock off ego/Riva Batts out now that may be pushing 3.7 but for the most part Ego's put out around the number you found with your meter.

ok. is a regular 510 batt supposed to put out more than the ego or did i get what you call a "knock off" and why would such a knock off device put out more voltage

Good question. I would think it would be the other way around being that the ego is bigger.

thats what i was thinking but from what mwa said previously i get the feeling they know something im missing (or at least they think they do) just gotta wait till someone that knows all about the tech aspect of such things sees this and can help me out. i dont absolutely need to know but it'd be nice to have my curiosity sated and im sure with the massive abundance of knowledge here on the ecf someone can do just that.

I'm a total idiot on this stuff and I want to know too.

If a 510 slim battery has more power than a 510 fat battery, I don't mind changing batteries more often.

I'm assuming those are the ones with the replaceable 3.7v batt i've been seeing lately? Think its one of the same 3.7v batts u can use in mods, AA size.

Guys small little reg ecig batts put out 3.7 KR8's, 510's 901's all of em if my meter is correct which I think it is, I just metered a KR8 and a 901 at 3.7 to make sure my memory isnt failing me. The Ego with the Mosfet is built to put out around 3.4 so the reading you took are exactly correct Realiz12 your 510 came off the charger a bit hot at 3.87 but just like an AW 18650 3.7 Batt comes off the charger around 4.19-4.2

He tested the batteries under load to determine the real voltage delivered to the atomizer. The 510 and eGo both showed about 3.1V but the KR808D-1 was more like 3.8V.
