Hi guys, I’m new here but I’ve got a curious situation here. I’ve been using the latest VINCI Voopoo pod where you can change the batteries and originally noticed that while I charged it if the pod was still in it it was burning the coil and juice. So I ordered a battery charger and a couple of extra batteries but if the pod is still in it while changing the batteries I get a burnt taste to it? It’s such a bizarre thing and my coils are 0.80 mesh coil from VOOPOO but they’re only lasting about a week if I’m lucky. My juice is 20mg nicotine salt nic and I burn it at about 14 w since it’s supposed to burn it between 10-18w and last much longer than other coils. My timed draws are usually around 4 - 4.3 seconds

Welcome to ECF!
i was looking for some info about your problem and here is what i found on another forum:
"They have their “dry burn protection” but it’s nonsense. All it is is that it auto sets wattage whenever you attach the pod based on the coil resistance. It also does this if the device is left off or in sleep mode for a while (example like when you are sleeping). That means if you pull your pod out or it falls out and you put it back in the wattage changes. Or in the morning when you wake up from not having sued it while sleeping the wattage changes. Worse off the default for the .3 ohm coil is 35 watts which is too much for that coil so in reality, their device will automatically burn your coil if you aren’t paying attention. Again good idea, poorly executed."
That is why i think this model of device can have a bug in this feature, that is why your coils burn. As a way to fix it i would think about charging it off and without pod in it.
