voopoo vinci S
intro.jpg
Today I’m bringing you a new POD-style device from VooPoo: the Vinci S. As we know, the Vinci range is quite extensive—from the Vinci 3, the E80, and the E120, to the Q... well, now VooPoo introduces the Vinci S. It features a 2000mAh battery, the new iCosm 2.0 cartridges, a maximum output of 40W, and a very attractive aesthetic.

Let’s dive into the review, but not before thanking VooPoo for making this possible. You can visit their website to learn more about the Vinci S.

The device comes in a rectangular yellow box, which we’ve become familiar with due to VooPoo’s recent rebranding. At the top, we find some branding along with the model name. On the right side, it highlights the inclusion of the iCosm 2.0 system. In the center, there is an image of the device that matches the color of the unit inside. Additionally, in the background, we can see the infinity symbol, a signature element that defines VooPoo.

On the back, we can find the box contents, along with contact addresses, logos, warnings, and finally, a "sample" sticker, indicating that the final product might vary slightly.

Inside the box, we find:
1* Vinci S Device
1* Vinci S Cartridge 0.8Ω
1* User Manual

I actually like the fact that a Type-C cable is not included in the packaging, as practically everyone has one at home these days.

From this image, I can give a general description of the device. Let’s start with its shape and the materials used in its construction. To begin with, the form factor is similar to a "stick" device; it reminds me of the Vaporesso Luxe or the SMOK Nord. It is relatively small and very lightweight, weighing in at 70.22g with an empty cartridge. As for materials, the body is made of an aluminum alloy, while the cartridge is made of polycarbonate.

As you can see, the color and finish of the device are high quality. Furthermore, the sides have a different finish than the front; they feature a glossy finish, while the rest of the device leans more towards a matte finish.

In the center of the front panel, we can see the LED strip, which serves as a battery indicator. The colors indicate the following:
  • Green: 60-100%
  • Blue: 30-60%
  • Red: Below 30%
There is also some decoration in the center—a pattern of small squares, some more prominent than others. I have to say, I’m not a fan of the fact that it is a sort of sticker or print, as I get the feeling it might wear off over time.

There isn't much more to say about this part because, as you can see, it is a very simple device without many complex features. It is user-friendly and perfect for beginners since there is nothing to configure—just add liquid and you’re good to go.

If we look at it from the side, we can see the airflow intake. In this case, it consists of a small hole and another significantly larger one, roughly three times the size of the small one. To adjust the airflow, you simply use the slider, which has a noticeable resistance, and I absolutely love that. As for how it filters the air and how it performs, we will discuss that in the "Vaping Time" section.

On the other side, we find the Type-C charging port, which in this case charges at 1A/5V. I don't quite understand why VooPoo didn't implement fast charging on this device, because charging a 2000mAh battery is going to take some time. One thing I do love, however, is that the port is on the side, meaning we can leave the device standing upright while it’s charging.

Regarding the cartridges, they have a 4.5mL capacity, which means they are not TPD-compliant. Refilling the e-liquid is done from the side by opening a small silicone flap, inserting the nozzle of our bottle, and filling it to its maximum capacity.

As for the capacity, 4.5mL lasts quite a long time, especially when vaping with a 0.8Ω coil. Concerning the cartridge-to-battery connection, it uses four fairly small magnets that keep the cartridge very secure. There is only a tiny bit of side-to-side play, but it’s practically minimal and not at all bothersome.

The mouthpiece is really comfortable thanks to its shape, and it molds perfectly to the lips. I really like the design because it transitions from being quite wide to being very thin and narrow, making it extremely comfortable to use. The cartridge material is polycarbonate, just in case that’s a point of interest for you.

Vaping Time
The time for the test has finally arrived—let’s start with the hand-feel. In the hand, it feels like a truly small and portable device, built from relatively high-quality materials and being very lightweight thanks to its aluminum alloy construction. The shape is very ergonomic due to the distinct rounding of the overall form. One thing I would have loved to see is a rubber base or something similar to help the device grip surfaces, as the alloy makes it quite slippery.

Regarding the airflow, the adjustment is really convenient thanks to its side placement; additionally, I think it has the perfect amount of resistance—it hasn’t moved once while carrying it in my pocket. If we close it down enough, we can get a very satisfying tight draw, though there is a slightly high-pitched whistle that might be a bit of a turn-off for some. If we leave it open, we get a very satisfying RDL (Restricted Direct Lung) draw as well.

As for the battery, what can I say? This little beast packs 2000mAh inside, which is more than enough for the 5-40W range it delivers. A clear disadvantage is that I would have liked to see 2A fast charging for this battery, as there is a massive difference between that and what the Vinci S actually uses. Theoretically, it takes about 2 hours to fully charge, which could have been cut in half using fast charging (this is theoretical and hasn't been strictly tested; real charging times can obviously vary slightly).

Moving on to the cartridges, refilling is very convenient—you don't even have to remove it from the device to fill it, although I do recommend removing it while charging. When it comes to flavor, what can I say? I believe VooPoo is one of the brands that creates the best commercial coils on the market; the flavor is really pronounced and the lifespan is usually quite long. Obviously, it’s not going to last for the 100mL they advertise—we should take that for granted from the start.

Finally, the auto-draw works like a charm and hasn't given me any issues so far, though I will update this review with a comment if necessary.

Exceptional Flavor
Slow Charging
User-Friendly Design
Airflow Whistling
Convenient Cartridge System
Impressive Battery Capacity

Conclusion
What can I say about this device? We all know VooPoo by now, and we know they rarely disappoint. In this case, they’ve brought us a very user-friendly pod system—no complicated functions, vaping modes, menus, or anything of the sort. It’s simply a matter of plugging it in, filling it with liquid, and you're ready to vape. It is truly a solid device, and I could recommend it without any hesitation.
