I dunno if this has been done before or not, so if it has I apologize to the original modded.
I had given up on my vortex 2 due constant burning taste with any liquid I tried in it. I went through 4 out of 5 of these things, tried removing the wadding in the cup above the coil, tried fluffing the wick, tried enlarging the hole around the wick, tried putting extra holes in the cup still to no avail.
Was looking for a thread to see if I could replace a wick with PTB, still haven't found if this is feasible or not, when suddenly it thought, "I wonder if I can put my last vortex in a tank?"
Tried putting it into a smoketek tank, no go, it's to big, then tried one of my homemade syringe tanks, perfect fit! I drilled out some big holes in the outer tube right where the wick hangs out of the inner tube. Shaved off the protruding plastic with an exacto knife, placed it into my syringe tank and filled only the syring tank with some kickin apple juice. Waited exactly one minute looked to see if the wadding was absorbing the liquid and took an experimental vape expecting burnt flavor, instead I got a perfect vape! Seriously, no burbling, no burnt taste no wicking issues! I have been chain vaping this thing nonstop since I did this about an hour ago no dry or burnt hits AT ALL.
I figure I need to change flavor to a non cinnamon flavor but I'm very happy (and sad this is the only one I have left) with the results. I didn't mod the vortex beyond drilling the two holes on the outer tube at all!
