Good Evening fellow vapers,
Today I am reviewing the MTL vPen by Vapeonly which was sent to me by the folks at Healthcabin.
Congratulations on their 9th Anniversary.
HealthCabin Ninth Anniversary Celebration
I was surprised to find myself using a MTL Pen device since normally I am all over the map with daily setups(devices, tanks, RTA, rda) and then I was introduced to the vPen.
No button to push! Activated by inhaling[emoji106]
I know, another pen style right? Yes, but a stealthy, actual pen looking device. I carried this around in my shirt pocket for 2 weeks and nobody even knew I had an actual vaporizer on my person, even when I pulled it out to use it I didn't get any looks until they saw a small, nice little tootle of vape being exhaled.
If you are just switching from the nasties to vaping and are looking for a tight draw, compact size that can be used with the higher nicotine liquids then this is definitely an option to look at, especially the price point.
One would think due to the 1ml capacity tank that, "oh, that won't last me very long", think again. When using a higher nicotine liquid you will hardly notice the liquid level drop thru the small dual glass window located on each side. The battery, again is small in capacity(390mah), but after 5 tanks it was still putting out the power needed for the 1.3 ohm coil.
The coil was a surprise to me since I have grown accustomed to the flavor tanks like the Fireluke Mesh, but I was caught in a jam when I was out and about when my regular tank and battery went dead. But you guessed it, I had the vPen in my shirt pocket. The flavor is a great little surprise. Yes, the cloud wasn't as big or massive amounts of flavor, but, it isn't designed for that, I see it as a great little starter and a backup for those incase of situations that we have all run into(yes, even me, running out the door without my luggage of spare batteries, bottles of liquid, and spare coils, tanks, and devices).
A nice feature that I didn't even notice was that this device comes with an additional drip tip that utilizes a Capsule, yes, either use your own liquid or a Capsule that drops straight into the drip tip. The stainless steel drip tip gives it a more stylish look and a little bit tighter draw than the wide bore drip tip that can also house the Capsules. I was not able to use a nicotine Capsule when I received this so I just used a couple different eliquids, 50/50, 70/30, and 80/20.
With the 1.3 ohm coil being small I did use the higher VG liquids and worked my down to the 50/50 liquids which I believe gave the best flavor and vape.
The tighter draw is also due to 2 small holes below the waist of the pen, but surprisingly you do get an decent amount of airflow. I could see the holes being a gauge larger just to give the user a tad bit more airflow but this is a definite MTL device.
The battery can be charged using the USB to Micro USB cable(included).
and just above the charge port is the Red LED indicator that does lightup when using the device and charging, the light will extinguish when the battery is fully charged.
Included in the nice sturdy box is;
1 x vPen (colors available are Blue, Gold, Black, Pink, and Silver)
1 x 1.3 ohm coil (installed)
1 x 1.3 ohm coil (spare)
1 x Manual
1 x USB to Micro USB charging cable
1 x stainless steel drip tip (spare)
1 x vPen 390mah battery
1 x vPen Cap
1 x Warranty Card
So, if you are looking to quit smoking or want to have a nice, small, discrete vape to carry with you for a backup I would definitely keep the vPen in mind.
