Does anyone know where i need to look for dna or sx stabilized wood squonkers?
sure is! Nice and easy to turn on the lathe, I like the inside fully juice impervious too...Is that a Delran core I spot on that tip?
Bombs away! I have a new engraver with crisper and deeper engraving, much nicer. The switch contact is now 4mm brass as seen on these 2.

It's an antipodean thing, although i have done something similar in the past and then found someone to duplicate the mods from solid metal.Looks like black electrical tape as well as scotch tape also... Amazing...
A little story...
A good mate of mine has been flogging the very first prototype that I made a year ago, for the whole year as his only mod. It's been dropped repeatedly, kicked, buried, rained on and sumerged. He's a big strong bloke, a hard worker in the outdoors, and and equally hard on gear. I told him he was going to get a replacement, and his only stipulation was that it had to be "Russ-proof" (his name is Russ). So this was born...Aussie hardwood of unknown variety but incredibly dense and hard, with alloy caps so no tarnish or maintenance required. CA inside and out, for a truly Russ-proof mod.View attachment 537995 View attachment 537996 View attachment 537997 I'm aware that it won't look like that for long, but there was no way I could let him take the old one on a week long motorcycle adventure.
Here's the old one....lol

Now, that has got to be one of the best pictures of "true love" I've seen in a long timeA little story...
