Ok, so I have had my VS rDNA 40 for about 2 weeks now and it is performing flawlessly. Tonight was a fairly cold night (0-1.5 degrees C) and I was spending a bit of time out in the garage. I set my VS down for a few minutes. When I came back to it, it performed as expected, but the screen was totally black. After a few minutes, it started lighting up again, but was garbled. Still vaping as usual. After quite a few minutes in the car (warmer temperatures), the screen was back to normal. I have never seen this problem before. Should I send it back in, or is that just a side-effect from cold weather?

There have been some rumblings about this as of late from others having similar issues. I'd be curious to see who else chimes in here as I have my second dna 40 on the way (first one is in with Vaporflask getting a new chip for other unrelated issues). I will be using the mod a fair amount in cold weather and it would be a bummer if it did not perform OK in the cold......

That's where my confusions sets in. It never stopped performing (well, It did ask me if it was a new coil, but after I selected "NO", it vaped just as good as usual. Just some OLED problems until it warmed up.

Gotcha. Yeah I would imagine it's just due to the OLED display being sensitive to cold. (duh....lol)..... But then again, I have read posts of people here who have had zero issues with their DNA 40 screens being used in cold environments. So I guess some are more sensitive than others? not sure....

maybe its one of the early released faulty dna40 boards? i know that evolv had to recall em and send out fixed ones. I think if it is a faulty board you can get it replaced for free, they specifically mention that it was a problem with the jumbled up display.

An to further this, I believe they said it was a faulty connection to the display. If yours is marginal, it may only happen in the cold as metal contracts. I would contact Vapor Shark.
