Hey folks,
First off I am sure this information is in here somewhere (everything is in here somewhere) but I cant find it. I have looked through reviews, forum suppliers and several searches but im just not coming up with it so I appologize if this has been gone over 100 times.

I am looking for a VV tube mod that uses a single 18500. The obvious answer is of course the provari and I have been looking at the darn thing but just cant get past the price tag. I know it is worth the money and I know there is nothing that performs the same way. I have seen review after review but... I... just ... cant... hit... that... button...

Ok I probobly will.

But I just cant get over the idea that I may be missing something. There are a ton of lavatube-ish mods out there but I am very surprised that there dont seem to be any that use the 18500. I dont need the 18650 and the 18350 wont last me the whole day but the 18500? just about right.

So if anyone has any suggestions for a VV tube mod using an 18500 I would appreciate the help cause I am not seeing any.

Thanks :)

I know you said you don't want an 18650 but the Apollo Vtube has a 30% off code "vtube30" which brings the price down to under $53. For the price it's a cloud machine that you can dial in to your perfect vape that won't break the bank.

Apollo VTube Kit

They're out of the Stainless and Chrome versions :(

There might also be another coupon for $5 off floating around to sweeten the deal further if you want a silver one.

That 30% off code is written in the description on the Vtubes. If you read the info it says to use it to save 30%. They might be clearing them out for new stock.

Btw, I bought the SS version and I love it. It was a huge step up from the Ego's I was using before. It's dead sexy with the GG Penelope I have sitting atop it.

I say go for the Provari, the mini in fact. I've got the last few versions of LT's and they were fine but too big for semi-stealth use at work. Decided I needed a Provari for size and build quality (I'm rough on gear at work). I wanted as small as I could get but was worried the 18350 wouldn't be long enough batt life. I got the mini with 18500 extension and a pair of each size batts. After a couple weeks of use at work I only use the 350's. I can make it through the day on one batt if needed but I usually put a fresh one in after lunch. I run an Ody with 2.4ohm coil at 5v most of the time. Recently been swapping with a Penelope with 1.6ohm coil at 3.8v. The voltage outputs what its set at through the life of batt. With the LT's I'd have to keep bumping the setting up as batt drained. That was a minor pain but the last LT I got (VariTubeX) boosts the voltage to 6v and then uses PWM to simulate the voltage selected. If I set it to 3v it would pulse 6v with a 50% duty cycle. The problem with that, on some hardware or some juices that short 6v pulse was enough to drastically change the taste of some juices. One of my favorites Boba's Bounty never tasted the way I like it on the device. It brought the tobacco flavors to the front and the sweetness was all but gone. The Provari puts out a constant voltage that is selected and I get much better results. Like everybody else who owns one, wish I'd got it long ago. I only use the 18500s and extension at home, I like the smaller setup out and about. Hit the button, you wont regret it.

Thank you for the tip on the clearance items thinkingaboutit! I had missed that. $140 for a chrome? That was the last push I needed :)

Now I can begin the frantic window peeking and stalking of the mailman. It is of course a "blemished" model so there is a bit of risk there but I dont suspect it will be anything to worry about. I guess I can think of it as "pre-dropped" They got that first worrysome roll off the table out of the way for me.

Ditto. I think I shall do the same. I've been struggling between eGo Twist versus Provari for about a month now... seeing the $140 blemished chrome just caused me to pull the trigger. It isn't like I'm not gonna beat the crap out of it, anyway... my Reo Grand looks like I've used it to drive nails.

So glad I looked at this thread!

The main fact is that the 18500 is not a very popular battery. When it comes to batteries, information is on tap on the candle power forums(flashlights/torches related). The 18350 is the battery of choice for people obsessed with small size, and the 18650 is the preferred battery for people wanting long battery life, with the point being that the extra 15mm isn't that noticeable.

I too stick with an 18500 battery. The extra 15mm is quite noticeable to me, and an 18500 lasts all day long. Trust me, get the Provari. I have used the eGo Twist, Lavatube, boosted homemade mods, and various others, and they just don't compare.

EDIT: btw, if you check out the Provape sub forum, the "blems" aren't really blemished at all, just missing the Provari logo.

Thank you for all the input folks. I like the 18500 because its just... right lol. 18350 will not last me all day, 18650 is great for camping and so forth but I dont need it that big for daily use so the 18500 is just right.

I got my "blemished" chrome provari today and I am THRILLED! My phoenix came in today too so I have my chrome provari with pheonix on top. I have reached the mountain-top and it is beautiful :)

By the way I loled at the "blemish". It is near as I can tell a tiny mark at the bottom of the tube that you can only see if you twist it just the right way in the light.
