What batteries? Most manufacturers have some recommendation for maximum drain.

On the chance you are using the recommended AW's: The AW rep on candlepower forum says not to drain them below 2.5v. There are about a thousand posts on ECF that say 3.5v, but all of them are regurgitating a typo in a post in an old battery function thread that had some expert conversation in it. AW IMR 18350's = 2.5v is as low as recommended before charging.

They are aw's I was just curious because where they are now my charger shows them fully charged. Neither is anywhere near the normal 4.2 of most fully charged aw imr batts I have

What rate does your charger output? I have occasionally noticed a phenomenon when fast charging (above 500 mah charger output) that one of my xtar chargers doesn't read cut off right and has undercharged some of my batts. That one seems to be fine when set to a lower (350 mah) output setting. I've never really explored the issue too deeply, but I did end up using a different charger when I wanted to fast charge.
