VV's give you control over your vaping experience. A non-VV battery will have 4.2v fully charged and when discharged 3.2v. That variation will effect the vape produced and flavor. The additional battery life of a VV is just a plus.
While VV is a good thing, VW improves on that by automatically adjusting the voltage to your coil resistance and maintaining the wattage setting you've chosen regardless of the battery charge. IMO, if you are considering upgrading to VV only, you are doing half of the job.

Ecigs work by heating a coil or element and vaporizing liquid. Variable voltage or variable wattage devices let you control the power used to heat the coil. This is very helpful as coils can be made in various diameters and lengths. Variable wattage devices test the resistance of the coil and adjust the voltage to match whatever wattage you have set on the device.

Variable voltage devices maintain the voltage you set across the coil. That is the same as variable wattage devices except you are controlling the voltage directly instead of letting the device read the coil resistance and adjust the voltage automatically.

V=IR
P=IV

From the two equations above we can check wattage on VV devices. Rearranging we get:

P=(V^2)/R

Where:

P=Power (watts)
V=Voltage (volts)
R=Resistance (Ohms)
I=Current (amperes or amps)

Welcome to ECF! As I do not own 1 of those devices, I use a Silver Bullet. I am waiting for the MPV3 to come out and see the price, if too expensive I'll just get a MVP2 for a backup for my Bullet.

Very wise! I understand there there will be 2 different versions of the MVP3--regular and high end (more expensive). Hmmm.... :)

If the high end is over 100 bucks I'l be buying s MPV2 :)

If it comes with the Evolv DNA 40 chipset, it will be well over 100 bucks, I'm afraid.

Innokin Announce MVP 3.0 – Vape Mile

There will be more than one edition. One will be at a lower price point that will be at least 30W as well as an advanced edition that will run a customized Evolv chipset with precise higher wattage and feature new advances in technology which take it above and beyond the competition.
