VV = Longer Carto Life?

Thanks, folks. I'm doing 3.7 volts now and the biggest problem I have after taking a few apart is they get gunked up. I'm thinking if I can increase the voltage slowly during the life of the carto it might last longer. tanks for me hasn't increased the life of my cartos for some reason but are still convenient as you don't have to refill as often.

when do you know if youre going too high on voltage? ive been trying to stay under 9 watts for "safety", but ive got a VariCool from SmokTek and i believe it protects agaist the mod getting too hot. is that all i should be worried about in terms of safety? in other words, what exactly is the "safe range" keeping me safe from?
