Got home from work to find my VV batteries had arrived.

Yippee Kai Yay!

Just re-tried Cafe Mocha and Belgium Cocoa. Much better at the lowest setting compared to the 650 mAh battery and 2.2-2.4ohms coil.

Is it worth getting the 3.0-3.2ohms coils to drop the temp even further.

Thanks.

Why is that?

Is it because the VV is operating at a voltage equivalent to a depleted fixed battery?

When I tried some of the other juices I have on a fully charged standard battery they tasted a bit fried.

But the overall voltages aren't greatly different, at least on the low end.

Definitely a difference in practical terms here that's for sure.

that's pretty cool you just had a whole conversation with yerself. i do that all the time and it makes people in white jackets run after me with syringes.

it's just your taste profile, you probably just prefer cooler vapes. now eventually that may change as many people experience difference flavors from the same juices over time.

I'd you wanted the full range of the vv, then yeah, get the 3.0-3.2 coils. You don't have to though. I've been using the standard coils with mine and I'm happy.

The flavors are going to be a little different because you can change the voltage. The reg triton battery is set at (I think) 3.7 volts, at 3.9v just that little bit extra can make a big difference in what your tasting. I guess you can think of it as a dimmer switch for lights, the lower the voltage, the less light (vapor&taste), the higher the voltage more light (more vape & taste) juice has Suttle notes sometimes. Being able to change the voltage even just a small amount can make a big change.

Hi. The standard battery is 4.2 fresh off the charge, drops to about 4.1 fairly quickly, then slowly drops to about 3.7 when it blinks for a charge. This I gathered from my batteries on my multitester.

Of course, the regulated variable voltage delivers whatever you set it to throughout the life of the discharge.

VV is great, init?

No more unsatisfactory burnt flavor off a fresh charge on the standard Triton. No more weak vapor production at the end of the charge. Pure consistency.

Definitely try out the 2.6-2.8 or 3.0-3.2 ohm coils. They open up the VV quite a bit, imo.

The longer I distance myself from cigarettes, the more I enjoy a cooler vape.

Well, it was late, no one was around, and I'm the most interesting person I know. :)

Maybe it's cooler vapes, but it just seemed the flavors were getting fried on a full battery.

Yeah, after using the VV Today (or yesterday now..) I don't think I need to change the coils.

I did adjust the voltage up as the battery drained. That was great. I noticed with the stock battery it was a bit hot to begin with, got to a sweet spot, and then was sort of meh for the last third of the battery.

I can't imagine it could even vaporize on the lowest setting and a higher resistance coil. Maybe i'll try it just to see.

Interesting info. I was looking at the specs and Halo has and actual range from 3.2-4.2 - Nice to know what you've actually measured.

So does anyone run the VV at 4.8 all the time?

I tried 4.8 once today. I think I need to wash that tank out because it cooked that juice so bad.

I didn't know exactly what to make of that but I did think it had to do with the overall daily life of the battery, which is what I meant when I wrote that the vv and standard battery cove a somewhat similar range. Halo doesn't give any specs for the VV that I've been able to find.

It is. Too bad it is pricy. I can't really see not sticking with it though. Just too good.

I will throw some different resistance coils on the next order.

Alright, I did just notice one downside to cooler vaping. The vapor can be a little cloying on the throat. Noticed it with some Tribeca. Turned up the battery a bit and it went away.

LMAO!!!!!!! This was funny! ^^^

A really cooked juice..try 1.8 ohms and crank it up..OUCH. And yes, I did that. LMAO! I love a warmer vape so I stick w/lower ohms. You'd probably really like 3.0 ohms. And yes, I do a lot of juices that I stay at 4.8 v for them. At times, I even wish the volts could be adjusted higher.

But you will find certain juices can take the heat and others not so much. Prime is one of my favs but can burn quick where VOODOO can handle the heat.

I'm getting to the Voodoo.. have 7ml waiting until I get through with some others tying up my spare tanks.

I keep going back and forth on whether or not to try the different coils because I know some of them are going to end up languishing in the spare parts bin. But at the price for a single pack not too much to worry about there.

How do the menthols do with higher temps?

The safest answer is that you'll have to try it for yourself, because it's all a matter of opinion. Some people like it, some people don't like menthol at all, some people don't like Halo's menthols specifically, some people prefer a cool vape, etc.

As for my personal opinion... it's awesome. ;) Halo's Sub-Zero (their strongest menthol) at a high-ish temperature is literally ALL I vape. At home I vape right around the 4.3 volt marker on the variable voltage Tritons, and when I'm out of the house it's with low resistance cartomizers on G6's.
