I don't know about decent, but there now exists a clone of the Vapor Flask Squonk with temperature control. Lots of folks were less than enamored by the authentic and the clone likely shares some of the issues.

The market it wide open for BF VW mods priced between the Smokeless Owl and imports like the Sunbox E8, which seem like hen's teeth to acquire anyway. This is the only mod I've found but I can't get past the button placement. I prefer a side mounted and it looks like this one is front mounted...almost a deal breaker.

thanks for the replies everyone. im a bit bummed that theres nothing that fits my parameters, but not really. i need to hold off spending anyway. its just good to know that im not missing out on my dream device. but i know once it does show up, ill be all over it. after (positive) reviews, of course.
i had the feeling i was asking a lot for a device to do all that and still have a low price tag (sub $100. preferably sub $75). but im patient. im sure itll be available within a few months. heck id wait a year for that. as long as there no massive FDA kibosh, im willing to wait. thanks for your help.

Tmod Customs is making a SX350J Temp Control.
Livewire mods has the Gdeal DNA40 bottom feeder.
Cloudmaker has said they will come out with a bottom feeder kit for the Whiteout.
Temp control squonkers are not inexpensive right now.

Check out the Hypersquonk by Tek-Division (They also make a nice looking dna40 mod but it aint cheap)... I just pre-ordered one... turns any mod into a Squonker.

If you're not worried about size, you could build your own VW squonker like I did...
