Hello!

New member here.. looking to kick a 15 year habit and really enthusiastic about the growth of ecigs.

I've spent around $400 experimenting, but still haven't found the perfect solution and keep buying packs of camels. This is growing to be a more expensive habit than analogs. I'm hoping the right setup will pay off the investment, but am more drawn towards the health benefits.

A blu disposable was my first exposure to ecigs and I've been seeking the holy vape grail since.

I started w/ a Volcano Inferno kit, tried dripping (way too strong) & the tankomizer solution (awesome taste, feel & battery life, but I don't have the patience to clean the tankomizers as often as they need). Then I tried the Volcano Magma. Dripping with the Magma is nice, but carrying around a dripping bottle makes me look like a crack head. The Magma tankomizers are also nice, but still need cleaning too often. I also tried the cartomizers & clearomizers w/ the Magma, but filling them is a pain.

Not only that, but both Magma batteries that came w/ my starter kit had LED covers that looked cheap and would fall off really easily.

Frustrated w/ the Magma, I picked up a Blu starter pack from a local grocery store. I disagree w/ everyone that hates on the Blu as the worst ecig. They seem to have good quality control and it's definitely a plug n play experience. I do wish they had a better selection of flavors, but the tobacco & cherry flavors are satisfying.

The battery life is a disappointment, but they have a new "premium100" pack that's supposed to ship Nov 1st. It is touted to have a bigger/badder battery & carto. Anyone know details of this thing?

The Blu PCC is also a really nice appeal. This forum has pointed me towards the Volt for a similar sized PV with pre-filled cartos, but they don't seem to have a nice PCC.

So.. I'm torn between ordering a Volt starter kit or waiting for the Blu Premium100 kit. Does anyone know if there are any other companies that sell pre-filled cartos that will be compatible w/ the Blu Premium100 batteries?

Hi gaksato. Welcome. It doesn't sound like you need a new kit. It doesn't get much easier than attaching a cartomizer and vaping. They make 'em that hold 5ml of juice these days. If you're not up to 10 minutes of fill time for a week's worth of filled cartos then maybe it's not for you. Are you quitting cigarettes when you vape? That could be really stressful. If I'd done that I probably would have thought of more reasons than you have to pick up the pack and light up. Transitioning to vaping - there aren't rules. Smoke when you want. Vape when you want. Chances are, with the right equipment and juice, you'll want to smoke less and less. For some it's from the first vape, most of us take longer. Don't be too hard on yourself or your equipment.

Tanks can be finicky and frustrating, especially with a nic crave. I'd suggest the bigger cartomizers. Maybe that will be a fit for you.

The Blu disposables are great for telling someone about an ecig they can grab at Walgreens. At $7.99 - wow. It's a nice, strong hit with 24mg of nic. The ecig in the Blu kit doesn't hit as well as the disposable and the max nic you can get is 16mg. I don't know what they're thinking on that. Maybe changes are in the works that I'm not aware of.

My 2 cents: it's worth the effort to find something that works for you that you can enjoy, relax and have some fun with. Hope you're vaping happy soon :)

SmokelessImage is identical to Bloog but I think a bit less cost. I recommend manuals for any slim ecig - harder to damage or kill with juice leaks, easier to get a good hit. And if you want to be able to get a longer hit, look at vapor4Life instead (same threading but allows up to 10-13 second drag instead of 5 seconds. But I think the cartomizers from SmokelessImage and Bloog are a bit better.

OR

You never tried cartomizers on Inferno? (Inferno is an Ego BTW so don't buy an Ego - you already have one) Most people use cartomizers and Boge are most popular.

There are several reputable brands out there. I hear really good things about the Volt and Bloog. (I havent tried them). I use one from Vapornine. However I do have experience with Blu and I found it to be subpar in comparison. As you have noted lots of people dislike Blu. I would recommend you consider these other suggestions over the current Blu. But a Blu product that isnt even out? Well, if you want to be the guinea pig thats up to you, it may be great, but there are many of us who can attest to the quality of others over the current generation of Blu.

SmokelessImage is identical to Bloog but I think a bit less cost.
I think they have different power ratings.
Volt claims a 65mm battery with 220 mah and a 78mm battery at 320mah. I believe Bloog's 78mm battery is 250-270mah (im not 100% a friend of mine said he emailed them about it and that was their response. So take this info with a grain of salt and they dont list the specs on their site unfortunately, so I cant tell you if this is true).

I bought a Volcano standard kit. Nice little pcc with two nice little analog sized batteries. Oh my it was a waste of money. I mean I guess not such a huge waste because I havent smoked in a month BUT not a happy vaperor, and thats no fun.

Listen to Dormouse :) Get a Volt (cheaper than Bloog, same thing) or a V4L battery. Ive looked on youtube at literally EVERY single video review and they all say Volt is amazing. If youre not convinced, watch SteelJans video review. She tests voltage and ohms of everything and is totally unbias. Youll then see her next 4 videos are all reviews of their juices :) She really took to smokelessimage and shes also adorable and fun to watch.

you can get cartomizers for any of your current devices that are higher ohm and thus will not be as strong. Try a 2.5 ohm cartomizer out, you can use it on the inferno and the magma....its the same type filler your going to get with the blu carto's anyway and much cheaper than ordering a kit.

Basically you already have plenty of units you just have to find a heating element that you like, since you said dripping on the inferno was way to strong (I think they ship with LR 1.5ohm atty's now) you definitely don't need anything bigger or higher voltage.

Me personally i did not like the Blu. But that had more to do with nic level and lack of menthol that anything else. It looks slick and they are on the cutting edge of social awarness as it were LOL that little PPC was awesome. I have moved on and up to the eGo style fat bats and that fits my needs better. But if you like the Blu then by all means ANYTHING to walk away from the analogs right.

However given that Nov 1st is right around the corner i would wait the few days.

I personally have a blue original starter kit that I purchased in March, and have been analog free since. I found it an easy way to quite smoking, and was definitely the "gateway" to finding the need for bigger and better, PV's.
However, there are 2 main complaints I have with blu (They came out with the premium 100 so give it a go if you want). One is definitely the battery life. It is poor in comparison to other PPCs. Depending on how much you smoke, you will either be content with its short battery life, or completely frustrated switching and charging between 2 batteries.I recommend 3, even 4 batteries when using the blu(i have 4 myself). While I am usually content with 2, my brother, who also enjoys vaping, kills batteries in as little as 10 minutes of heavy vaping.
The other is blu wants you to only use their carts, which is quite expensive when you pile on the costs monthly.
A very good alternative and what I did as soon as those pesky blu cartos ran out, was purchase some 306 cartomizers(they fit perfectly) and fill them with my own juice. Works wonders. That is probably your best bet. I actually recommend the blu, if battery life isnt on the top of your priority list.

While I am a total n00b, I can't speak highly enough of my Volt. I received it last week, and have found it to be amazing. I ordered the pro starter kit with slim PCC, and two of the new 78 mm sealed auto batteries. While the PCC will not hold a fully assembled 78 mm battery with carto, it will charge my spare battery, and hold two spare cartos while I keep the one I am using in my pocket (or hand). The batteries last quite a while, and the feel is cigarette-like enough to keep my hands busy. The cartos last a pretty long time, and I have been topping them off as necessary. This is my first e-cig, but I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great device, awesome customer service, and good price. Hope you find something that works for you.

Why limit yourself to these options? A volt kit is ok. Just like a Bloog(but imo, the bloogs lasted me much much longer).

Here's another idea to kick around. Very hassle free, but you'll need to mix match a bit.

Get a couple of 102mm batteries from vapor 4 life( I usually recommend manual, but I'm really digging this auto with my current set up) and a charger. V4L - Vapor4Life - Vapor King - the best e-cigarette/smoking alternatives!

Next, go to inhaler and get a package of G5 clearomizers. I wasn't a fan of these in the beginning, but I'm telling you, on these batteries they rock out. NHaler • Smoking Alternatives

Easy to use, and very effective. I've gotten 5 weeks from one of these G5's. And probably would have gotten more had I not broken it lol.

If you do get a volt\bloog kit, I wouldn't bother with the g5's. The v4l batteries cook these things a bit hotter than the before mentioned batteries. Anyhow, good luck and I hope this post at least gives you some other ideas.
