Hello, guys!

I have the, so called, wandering ohms!

The mod measures my coil 0.7ohms, but when I push the button for a hit it jumps to 0.85ohms and when I release it ohms drop to 0.7 again

I looked through the forum, so I checked the connection, the pin, the ports - it's not too tight or too loose, the coil doesn't touch the deck, I reassembled the tank washed and checked everything but the issue persists

Tried with different mod - the same situation

I can't use my favorite TC, because when the ohms rise the protection cuts off the puff
So I use wattage and it works but I think these jumps are not an usual behavior

Mod: Pico 25 (with ArcticFox); tank: Ammit MTL; Wire: SS316L 28ga, 8 wraps, spaced, 0.7ohm, 14w

I hope for some help dealing with this

Kind Regards

Sounds like you've tried all the options that could normally effect ohms jumping. I dont do TC so cant comment on that option.
The ohms arnt really wandering tho as they are alternating between 2 set points, ie resting and fired.
Has to be some strange scenario when using TC mode.
Hopefully someone has had this problem before and can advise you. Sorry I couldn't help.

The resistance of of SS will rise when it is heated, this variability is why we can use it for temperature control.
Assuming the mod is set to SS mode, and the temperature coefficient is correct then I do not know why temp control is not working properly.

Hopefully someone with more experience of TC and that mod will be along shortly with some suggestions.

Many thanks for your quick replies!

Ohms jump 0.15 - 0.2 (too much than normal?) from the real resistance when fired then go back.
(The mod reads the resistance right)
This happens at wattage mode and also at TC mode.
I'm using wattage mode and the vape is working.
But at TC mode, when the ohms jump, the protection is activated, the vaping process is suspended.
I've set TCR value to 92. (No the preset SS mode for TC)

Kind Regards

Hello again and thanks you your time and efforts helping!

Everything is ok
It's my fault
No wandering ohms but usual jump

SS resistance is rising as it should do when fired
TC is working properly
The protection turns on to stop the heating of the coil at the set temperature - nothing unusual

I had set 210c (very low I guess) that's why it seemed like complete ceasing of the puff
Now at 250c works fine

I would check the Ntoolbox "Device monitor" for further tests
@Izan, that was a great idea

Though I am still open for your comments and suggestions

Best Regards

P.S. I was told that I can't use (fused) clapton coils on TC! Is it true?

Not true, I've used fused claptons very happily in TC

These are my settings for Arctic fox on a Pico Squeeze 2
I used a 316L 30*2/40 6 wrap 2.5mm id coil @0.55 ohms.

Arctic fox details:

Power: 25w (usually 20w in wattage mode)
Preheat time: 1sec
Mode: Temp control
Coil Material: TCR 110
Temperature: 400F

Temp control setup:
PI Regulator: enabled
Range: 0%
P value: 500
I value: 300
