Hello vapers- Just started on this journey a couple weeks ago.Was a light smoker for years. Bought the Safe Cig and am totally off reg. cigs now. I only go through a cart about every other day, but getting some bad burnt tastes toward the end of them. I want to keep things simple and stay with the 2 piece ecig, maybe refilling the carts occasionally. Rather happy with Safe Cig, but may want to refine my tastes a bit. Looking for the best taste, best smoke production, and best bang for the buck so to speak. Any good recommendations out there (V2, South Beach, njoy?). Thanks for your help!

Simple, good vapor production, ready parts availability, 2 piece -- KR808D-1 family. NHaler, vapor4life, and vaporsetc are all good, reputable, suppliers, fast shipping.

A basic kit, 2 batteries, charger, couple of initial cartos is $37 - $50. All 3 vendors have 10% off coupon codes I believe.

The standard length 808 battery is good for several hours, while the XL or Mega battery goes noticeably longer. A PCC is handy if you are away from power for extended periods (it's an on-the-go recharger), or pick up a cig lighter - USB adapter (with 2A output) and a passthrough, if you like to vape in the car a lot. A passthrough is just a connector with several foot cord, ends in a USB connector, lets you vape without using the PV battery.

Prefilled cartomizers (cartos) are widely available, while many do quickly get into filling or refilling their own (the vaporetc. kit comes with 5 blank cartos plus an initial small bottle of eliquid).

Top off your cartomizers periodically -- condom method is simple, some liquid in the rubber cap, slowly push the carto into it, blow through it to clear excess liquid, wipe the battery terminal with a tissue and put in on the battery. I carry little 6 ml bottles of liquid, and cartos, in tiny ziploc bags from Walmart -- works well to organize things.

The 808 standard battery, either manual or auto, is likely sufficient for a relatively light vaper, which you are, given a carto lasting close to 2 days. It, plus carto, is about the size of a 100 cig -- not too large/noticeable. The big battery Riva/eGo, or the 808 format G400, is cool, but not necessary for everyone -- I like to be able to hold a standard 808 in my mouth, hands free, for some things.

A straight 510 kit is also an option, though I prefer the 808's better hit (higher voltage for a given resistance atomizer), and longer battery life (more mAH = more run time between recharges).

You have multiple choices, any of them might well do for you.

Good luck!

If I was going to buy something for you, according to what you want, this is what I would buy. To be honest I was in almost the exactly situation except I smoked more. I would also put in the notes to include joye 510 cartomizers instead of the atomizer and cartridge. Cartridges suck and the only people I know that like them are people who haven't tried good cartos. I drip straight onto an atomizer when it's convenient and I use 510 cartos otherwise. If you want a real cig experience though use cartomizers. Honestly I prefer the BOGE over the Joye and they feel more like a real cigarette (the BOGE are smaller). The PCC will take care of any battery lengivity issues.

When placing your order, you might want to get 1 manual and 1 auto battery. There are times I like the manual and times I like the auto. 1 of each may be a good idea, because if you spill liquid into the auto you will ruin in. Until you get the whole refilling process down, I would stick with a manual for testing out juices after refills and such.

Also, I'm not affiliated with them at all but FreedomsmokeUSA has the best juices/customer service I've experienced yet and if your looking for cartos or replacement parts (other than 510 batteries, which i get from cignot) hit up litecig.com. They have tons of parts and their shipping is incredibly cheap and fast.

Good luck!

Are you willing to upgrade to a larger 2 piece? If so Ego/Riva style would be a good upgrade, they give good vapor production have a very long lasting battery can get a kit for around $50 or less.

I agree, simplest way to go is ego/riva with cartomizers or drip tip. Best bang for the buck hands down. You should be able to get a kit, cartomizers and enough juice to last a month for under $75.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo - $40 eGo kit
Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - 510 Cartomizer $8

Juice is subjective, you can get samplers as well, Vapor Renu is the cheapest I have found and I love their juices but they only sell 30ml from 6.99-8.00 depending on the options you choose. Some people don't like VR juices. For samplers I recommend Vaporbomb.

BTW, the price I just quoted you for the eGo is from Liberty Flights, but there are only 2 left in stock. I'm recommending solely on from a financial standpoint, I feel this is the best deal for the money, but if you prefer to stick with a PV that resembles a traditional cigarette I would recommend a joye 510. If you are happy with the Safe Cig, the joye 510 would be a good choice, for less fuss, the ego. From the way you describe your smoking habits a 510 wouldn't be that much hassle, but a eGo battery would probably take you through the day or a one time battery switch during the day.

Re the burnt taste - do you ever clean your atomizer? I have a different model and have several attys so I can clean one by submerging it in alcohol overnight and then let it dry while using the other (plus I have one emergency spare). I definitely notice the atty starting to taste bad after a week so I'm doing weekly cleaning/swap.

It's my understanding that the Safe Cig is an RN4081 and that is pretty good at making vapor so I don't know if you'll get more vapor without going to a much larger unit. If your Safe Cig is an auto battery (suck to turn on) you may get more control over your drags by going to a different PV with manual batteries.

Re 2-pieces, if you go to a 2-piece then there are no carts. There are cartomizers which hold more liquid than a cart but have a shorter lifespan than an atomizer. They are technically disposable - i.e. you buy a lot and switch when one dies. but i think you can extend the carto's internal atomizer's life by cleaning them.

BTW - if the Safe Cig is configured as a 3-piece, you should be able to make it a 2-piece with RN4081 cartomizers. maybe you could try a few first and see how you like using a 2-piece.

A popular 2-piece is the KR808D-1 aka Vapor King
You can find it cheaper elsewhere but these are the prettiest batteries

For a good 2 piece I recommend kr808 type.
- battery
- cartomizer
I smoke more than you and I really enjoy the one I got from Vapor4life. I would suggest getting a regular length kit which comes with PCC or XL kit (xtra long battery last 7-8 hours).
It is also a 1 stop shopping store, they have juices, extra batteries, chargers, prefilled cartomizers, empty cartomizers.
They have 18.88% off right now.

Sales end November 18th 6am CST

For simplicity and consistency my vote is for the KR808D-1. I got the ultimate kit from V2cig.com, but there are many vendors out there for that model (Vapor King from Vapor 4 life is one). I get the WOW cartomizers from V4L and like the butterscotch, cinnamon roll and caramel. I chose V2cigs because they have an instant online support to answer questions, they state a lifetime warranty (haven't tested it) and their website had a ton of information. Check to see if what you are ordering is in stock though because they seem to be having trouble keeping up with demand. With the 18.88% off for Vapor 4 Life that might be cheaper. Although the ultimate kit seemed really expensive at first when I broke it all down it seemed comparable to other places (I used a 15% discount code thanko'leary). Vapor 4 Life has a much larger choice of flavors though. I think V2cigs.com's batteries are a slightly higher voltage though. I also liked that I could pick which batteries I wanted. At first I preferred the autos and quickly switched to prefer the manuals. The XL batteries last me a full day and I actually like the extra length (former 120 smoker). The Power Cig (their 5 volt version of a passthrough) is also very convenient.
