Wanted to, I mean REALLY wanted to smoke an analog after the election results tonight. I'm a pretty confident guy most of the time but I just feel shaken. For the first time in a long time, Im scared and worried for my family and our future.

I didnt pick up an analog, I chain vaped 5ml of Hype, so I guess I can call that a victory but I still feel sick to my stomach. Im not trying to turn this into a political rant, weve all heard too many of those in the past week or so please keep your political comments either for or against to yourself.Im just saying how I feel and what led to such a strong urge to smoke.I think the worst is past, Im going to go take a shower and get ready for work.

I appreciate having this forum and knowing that I have the support of a lot of other people out there who want to see me succeed.I think just being able to post this has helped a lot in that regard and for that I thank you. Ill keep you guys updated, Im really hoping I can make my 30 day mark without falling off the wagon.

I smoked a few for the first month or so and now have gone 3 weeks with even really wanting any.
Most of the time I wanted one it was because of something going on in my life.
Tuesday I found out I need knee surgery so it was nice to know that it did not make me want a cig.
I did vape a lot more tonight because of that and that other thing too.

So hang in there, it will get better (not wanting a cig) as time goes on.

Go to bed. When you wake up tomorrow the sun will have risen. Go to work. When you get home, hug your wife and kids. You may want to buy your ammo now, not for the impending apocalypse of your choice, but because it's going to be expensive for the next four years. But given internet sales I'm sure every place will be sold out by morning. Repeat this process until you feel better, or the next presidential election. Remind yourself that in 2004 every liberal felt the same way, and they survived.

If I'm wrong and the sun explodes tonight, well, it won't matter. =)

You can make it. I felt like a cigarette for the first time in months a couple of days ago when some-one rear-ended my car while I was driving. I chain vaped instead.

Your future and your family's will be better with you not smoking. Hang in there. Disappointments pass, but habits are harder to shake if we start them again.

Well, there is no harm in smoking an analog,As it is not as harmful as the real ones But yes everyone is shaken with the latest plight in our country but no matter whatever results have come it would certainly change our future and i am very confident about this,So..go and smoke an analog...!!!

Thanks guys for all the support I really appreciate it.I feel lots better now. @ Lyndsay thanks for the laugh, Im sure the sentiment is there in the right place but an "analog" is the term we use to refer to tobacco cigarettes instead of electronic cigarettes which are digital.

Hang in there zapped, there's a lot of people here standing behind you and your quest to stay smoke free. :) Having a cig doesn't make you a smoker again unless you start smoking more then you are vaping and THAT wont happen unless you let it. You vaped your way through your major urge to smoke and that is a huge victory for you and you need to be proud of that accomplishment :toast: The truth is we have no idea what the next four years will bring until we live those years and I learned a long time ago things often have a way of turning out very different then what we expect even when we are so certain that we can see into the future so try to take one day at a time and do your best for you and your family :)

I am the dissenter here. I have seen it with dieting and I see little difference: I refuse to deprive myself.

I have had exactly 4 cigarettes since I started vaping and I don't have any guilt or remorse for smoking them. I don't plan on going back to them on a regular basis, but I am not going to beat myself up over it.

To me, it is no big deal.

you guys will realize that a cigarette isn't as satisfying as a vape after you've been vaping for a few months.

Sort of like that. So may as well find out for yourself and stop the martyrdom. You may crave a cigarette thinking you want one, but you may not like it as much as you think you do. Which is why I said I am not gonna beat myself up over having one. It wasn't as great as I remember, and the craving went away for a long, long time. Next time it popped up, I had another... same result. Until you try it for yourself you are just going to continue to crave something because you have decided to deprive yourself instead of finding out you really don't want one at all!

coming up on a full year of being stinkie free but I still get the urge every now and again. Best way to battle it I have found is to have a bottle of a juice on hand that you like but vape very seldom. For me it is a strong butterscotch, I love it but it becomes cloying kinda quickly like a rich dessert. But a couple attys full of it and my urge goes away.

I'm also in the camp that thinks it might be better in the long run to have one.
As others have said, it will probably taste horrible, and it might be the last time you ever crave one again.

As for last night, I just got drunk.

Although it really helped, when I woke up nothing had really changed...
So I guess I wouldn't recommend that as a long term solution.

Presidential elections never bother me.
Regardless who wins it's business as usual.

In this two party system, congress holds all the power. And they're too busy getting massaged by lobbyist and voting for pay raises.

Have faith in friends and family ... that's all we really have in this world. Less stress that way imho. Stress is such a cigarette magnet for smokers and those recovering.

Head up and vape on y'all.

^^^ This ... had dinner with clients a few days ago and did not have my rig with me.. took two hits of a stinkie and after I got thru gagging due to the horrible taste (and smell I might add).. I got a big smile on my face because I realized I had crossed a threshold.. I got into this for health reasons.. now.. I know.. I really don't like anything about cigs.. at all.... I may slip but it will only be due to not having access..not because I need a cig.. That was a watershed moment for me .. bet you would experience the same.. only way you will find out is to light it up.. I'm betting you don't get five puffs in before you are bailing.. That's a goooood thing ... hang in there.. oh.. and regarding last night.. I'll bet you and the fam will be fine.. Keep grinding and God speed....
